Was Eddie Jackson Waived?

Was just looking at the roster, and noticed Deke Cooper took Eddie Jackson's #35, and Eddie is no longer listed on the roster.

I remember he signed his tender, but was he waived?

I thought he was a solid depth player, and great on ST.

Jackson only signed a 1 year deal...He is a UFA this year. Miami of ocurse hasnt resigned him. But he might still get invited to camp if he doesn't sign with another team.

I would think if a guy is waived, some sort of announcement would appear on the website?

That's odd. There hasn't been any announcement of Jackson being waived or anything, but I do remember him signing his tender a while back ago.

Any other team can place a contract offer on him to, and usually we get a draft pick if they outbid us, the more they pay the better the pick

He is officially a restricted free agent at this point, thats why he isnt on the roster

He isn't a restricted FA because he signed his tender and he is back on the team. I remember seeing his name before Copper didn't have a number, but he vanished when Copper got a number. My guess is that he changed his number for Copper and the site forgot to put him back on there.

Well a tender means another team can match though, its not the same as signing a contract

Truthfully I dont know exactly, but I do know a tender isnt the same as signing a contract, and he isnt officially signed

He had officially signed... It was the same day as Yeremiah Bell. And no, an Exclusive Rights FA means you have exclusive rights- no other team can sign that player.

Im just saying a Contract Tender is not the same as signing a contract

Thats all, he probally is officially signed

Thanks Alex- didnt realize a tender was not the same as a contract.

Although then again, the name 'Exclusive Rights FA' is somewhat misleading...

I'm amazed anyone even asked this question. I don't expect him to make final roster. He had 1 solo tackle, 1 assist and a pass defensed, has anyone done any less and been brought up in a thread.

Although I believe he had around 6 special teams tackles and depending on the site the nunmbers change. At best he had 10 tackles. Him and Kiwaukee Thomas were pretty popular on this board considering thier talent and results.
