Was Van Noy the Rat?

I doubt Van Noy said much to be honest. He seemed relatively shocked to get released. "Leaks" are a tricky word, someone talks with a person inside the organization and asks a general question and if the person gives an answer that seems counter to what is expected, now it's the dirt.

I'm going to guess you'd be surprised what these "insiders" actually say verse what these beat writers pen.

I used to like much of what 'Mando wrote. Now I feel like most of his submittals are simply for reactions - rarely any substance or value.

At least he ain't Omar..
A brick is smarter and more articulate than the two of them together. That coming from a former journalist

From an academic standpoint, this is a well written post. However from a content standpoint, there is a lot of speculation and hyperbole in it.
Thank you for the complement.

It occurs to me you might not be convinced that I am representing things clearly. So, to clear up the viewpoint that this speculation is mine, here is an interview of Byron Jones. When asked about Fitzpatrick and Tua, he spends almost all of the time praising Fitzpatrick. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but in an effort to save you the time of doing the research, here is a video with quotes and time stamps to help:

On Fitzpatrick
6:42 Byron Jones, "I know Fitz is um ... He's GOOD. That was one thing that impressed me, errr that had the biggest impact on me coming in, was just seeing how GOOD Fitzpatrick is. And his spirit--he is a guy in the locker room that just uplifts everyone around him; and it's so rare to have that type of person in your locker room. And I understand, he was benched what, week 4 ... week 3? And then you call on the guy in week 16 to show up big time and he does it ... without any ego, without any hard feelings, that's hard to find in ANY locker room, from the Pop Warner level all the way up to the NFL level--to have a guy who understands how important he is to the team, and the future of this team."

On Coach Flo and the QB decisions
7:21 Byron Jones, "So as a Miami Dolphin, I love seeing how they interact together, Coach Flo, Tua, Fitz, they just understand how important it is to the team. When one's not doing so well the other lifts the other person up, and Coach Flo is not scared to make those decisions and we all trust him and we all understand that he is the Head Coach of the team, he makes the decisions and we're all behind him 100%."

Isn't "rat" a rather sinister word to use in this situation?

Why not parakeet?

They sing and some talk. Others hear this and that and connect "dots."

I’m not too sure why that’s the quote you went with as it’s not nearly as damming as you make it out to be. Anyway, My issue is your use of “a LOT” and “many.” In fact it was, what, 3 anonymous players???

Also if I knew how to post a video I’d direct your attention to Byron’s Latest comments about Tua where he calls him “great” and a “hard worker” and is “going to make a big jump in year 2.” Those are a lot more direct and specific than what you posted.

Clearly we have two different perspectives on Tua. You may prefer to speculate and read between the lines to try to predict the future. However, I’m more willing to let the past be the past and wait and see how things unfold. I told you so’s just aren’t my thing

He also brought up Brandon Marshall and how his comments on the qb got him off the roster.. Marshall was moved in March before Tannehill was even drafted

OK, you're up. So far you've taken all the pot shots and I've done all the research. Show me where I'm wrong.

Not speculation, because as you've pointed out ... you disagree and you do not value speculation. We all know that after Fitzpatrick changed teams, people have changed their tunes ... but during the period which we were discussing, did you see an interview of Xavien Howard or Byron Jones that suggested they were 100% sold on Tua and/or disliked Fitzpatrick? I didn't, so I'm ready to learn.

The video to which you refer is one of AFTER Fitzpatrick was no longer a Dolphin ... thus the tune change. That is not the relevant time period, because I never said they now believe Tua is not the answer. The relevant time period was when Fitzpatrick was still a Miami Dolphin.

Video:
Don't worry about the video, I know the one you're mentioning. But for future reference and in case anyone else has that question, here's how you can put a video into your posts:
1. Write whatever you want in the post or reply box, then hit ENTER to get to a new line.
2. Go to the video and copy (CTRL-C) the URL from the video you want (e.g. it's YouTube address).
3. Switch back to the post and click the "MEDIA" button at the top of the edit box (it looks like two little pictures one overtop of the other).
4. Paste (CTRL-V) the URL from the video into the the box entitled "Enter Media URL" in the window that pops up.
5. Click CONTINUE at the bottom of the pop up box.
6. Click ENTER again to get on a new line and then continue typing whatever you want to say.
7. Click "Post Reply" at the bottom of your reply window.

Once you've done it a couple of times it's easy, but it's never easy for anyone until we've done it a time or two. Cheers brother. :)

Marshall's QB comments were about Chad Henne, that's right ... but he still got moved on shortly after he started harshing on Henne. Same issue, same result ... publicly bashing your QB is not well received.

It was pretty evident that Gesicki and Fitzpatrick were close. I think there was a resentment amongst the Receivers in general that Tua was starting. I would say Mike G was the rat or at least one of them.

If these 3 players are rats, what does that make Armando? Because really, it would have been just as easy for him to find 3 players who absolutely loved Tua... I have some words to describe Armando but Im curious about your opinions...
Hey N, Armando, A miserable narcissistic jerk. I remember his fine reporting on coach Shula, he made his whole career on hammering coach Shula. Oh yeah, historically, his reporting turned public opinion against coach Shula, which led to Jimmy Johnson, which begot Dave Pornstash, etc, etc, etc.

The Ever Hoping Armando becomes a Jet Fan

Van Noy was overpaid, by a wide margin. That was evident when he had to crawl back from whence he came, for half the salary.

As for him being the “rat”, if I had to lay money on it, I would bet yes.

Evidence? None. But when he was asked a simple question about Flo, he could have taken the high road. He didn’t. To me, he clearly displayed that he was a petty b!tch

I always thought the person that stood to benefit most from the talk about players not being behind Tua was Fitzpatrick. I assumed (maybe wrongly) that it was him.
As for Van Noy - He looks at first sight to be mature and a team guy, but the more he opens his mouth the more obvious it is that he is not mature and seems to need extra attention.

Bottom line - Van Noy played fine, but he had to large a paycheck and was hurt too much. He also got beat out by a younger, cheaper player that will have an outstanding season in 2021. It won't surprise me to see Van Ginkel develop into a fan favorite in Miami.

Who cares? The Dolphins are going forward and Tua is the teams QB. If a player who happens to be on the team now isn’t happy with Tua being the QB, all he has to do is go in and request a trade or his release and I am sure Grier and Flores will be happy to give him what he wants.

If it was Van Noy, which we have no idea if it was or wasn’t, he is no longer on the team anyway.
