Chris Mortenson and Tim Shea both report on ESPN radio that a rumor is that Chicago flops spots and trade Briggs to Washington, then Chicago turns around and trades its newly aquired #6 to Miami in an attempt to get Quinn.

...if already posted....then sorry, just heard it on radio this a.m.

It's that time of the year where all of the talking heads come up with what sounds like wild theories in order to a) fill airtime and b) cover their bases. I think it's way out of the question to pull off what amounts to a 3-way trade, but stranger things have happened.

The only problem with all this is that's it's becoming very apparent now that Quinn will NOT get past Cleveland at #3. I'd hoped he might, but the Browns are now very obviously passing on Adrian Peterson, according to several insiders.

The feeling with Mortenson and Shea was that the top 4 teams are looking to get thier QB at the top of the 2nd round which would let Quinn drop.

so we trade back to Chicago at 31st and then trade back up with chicago?

Washington gets the 9th pick and Briggs (seems alot)

What the hell do we get and give up for the 6th pick?

Not what I heard. Word has it all over the Phil Savage wants Adrian Peterson at no.3. He is going to be an impact player and instant star right away. The Browns ownership will not give a QB 50 million guaranteed money for being the no.3 overall pick in the draft. Quinn would want about the same money Russel is getting. People do not realize that teams do not want to take a QB in the top 5 of a draft unless they are cant miss players. Quinn had a horrible Sugar Bowl throwing for 2 interceptions and only 148 yards. He choked under pressure has never been able to win big games. Shaves his entire body (wierd) and may have smoked weed in college. Besides the last player that proclaimed he wanted to play in Cleveland because he grew up there was Bernie Kosar and we all know how that turned out. Cleveland will pass on Quinn they will take AP or may take Joe Thomas.

Quinn will be a DOLPHIN! In fact start pre-ordering those Satin white Brady Quinn no.10 jerseys on NFL.COM BABY.

WHEN WE DRAFT BRADY I AM GOING TO GO RUN AROUND NAKED IN MY NIEGHBORHOOD YELLING SUPERBOWL SUPERBOWL SUPERBOWL!!!!

Ok this is what they said
1) Johnson - Oak (hopes to get a QB in R2)
2) Russel - Det (may trade with TB)
3) Thomas - Cle needs OL help
4) Gaines - TB - might trade to #2

that leaves only #7 Minnesota to possible take Quinn.....

but thats what these two Yahoo's are saying

This popped up yesterday as a possibility.
It could happen, but if Quinn is not there at #6, then I doubt the trade with Miami goes thru.

The feeling with Mortenson and Shea was that the top 4 teams are looking to get thier QB at the top of the 2nd round which would let Quinn drop.

That would be quite the draft if the Raiders took Johnson, the Lions took Thomas and the Browns took Peterson. All with the thoughts of taking a QB in the second. I would love to see that.

so we trade back to Chicago at 31st and then trade back up with chicago?

no, what they said was Washington and Chicago flip flop 1st round picks and Washington gets Briggs, then Chicago (now at #6) trades with Miami (including other picks) so Miami can get Quinn before Minnesota does.

LETS GET IT DONE TODAY!

That's a solid move on our part, but only if Quinn falls past Cleveland. I've been hearing rumors that the Browns are stuck right now between selecting Quinn / Thomas. They've also taken Peterson out of consideration now....

My hope is that Thomas is there, and they decide to take him over Quinn. I doubt they would, but you never know. Personally, I'd be stuck too. Those are two very talented players to choose from. Tough decision for Cleveland...

PHINZ RULE!!!!
