So this past weekend I got to talking NFL with the Old Man, who is a big Broncos fan. Anyway, he tells me that he thinks the Redskins will be in the Super Bowl this year. Now mind you this is a guy who has always been a closet case Redskins fan, coupled with Shanahan now being the head coach. So does anyone think the Skins have a shot, a SERIOUS shot, at the Super Bowl?

i really dont see any way this could happen, a new head coach, a new qb, a new defensive scheme, an offansive line that's in shambles, and a 100 million dollar defensive player that won't even show up for camp. Once again i just dont see it.

Shanahan has been a mediocre coach w/o Elway and TD. I expect Washington to be better w/ McNabb and better coaching but I'll be shocked if they are close to the SB.

I could see the Skins winning the divison..But Superbowl?

I don't think so

hm, the Rams turned it around in one season and won the Super Bowl. the Patriots did the same two years later. it wouldn't shock me if it happened again.

It's possible sure. It wouldn't just be bc Shanahan is there there. I liked the McNabb pickup. Even though they signed 88 different running backs who are all washed up, I still don't think they're set at the position.

You never know. Look at how good Sprorono and Saban did in their rookie years. That mean little Irish S0B can coach, that's for sure.

I will be watching most of the redkskin games this year. The NFC East is an interesting division. I hate the cowboys. I've always liked the Giants. I still feel that Kurt got robbed in that game against the 49ers.

I'd love to see JJ pacing the sidelines & Shanahan's stern, expressionless face at the end of those two games against the cowboys, especially if the Redskins pull off the upsets.

what do you mean by this?

I meant Collins not Warner, sorry.

The last play of the game is a botched FG that would have won it for the Giants. There is a BLATANT pass interference call that doesn't get called. I was at a restaurant and completely lost it when it didn't get called. It wasn't a sports bar, I was with my gf at the time. Pretending not to be watching the game. :)

It was PI BUT that guy isn't comin down w/ that ball anyway and the Giants ha dno one to blame but themselves for blowing that huge lead. The game should never have been close enough for one play to help determine it.

No, but landing Vincent Jackson would definitely help them take two steps in the right direction.

No, but if they hadn't switched to a 3-4 and pissed off Haynesworth, and also managed to find another decent WR, then I'd give them a decent chance.
