quicker during these OTAs? Also, I am assuming that other transactions will occur so that new players can start this week? I just expected a number of transactions to be announced today.

I dont see your point about Harrington? It was announced by the team, and he was expected to begin practicing today...

What type of transactions do you mean? Certain guys have been signed, just not formally announced. It doesnt mean they're not practicing with the team today. Plus, the official site usually posts news around this time, so we'll see.

I think Harrington was pursued because he's a viable option if Dante doesn't work out (injury and all). He does add depth. So, why not catch him when we can?

Other transactions: Vick, plus the Dolphins also announced the signings of tight end Keith Heinrich, cornerback Michael Lehan and linebacker Keith Newman.

My point was that Miami could have waited about...

three or four more weeks and gotten him for nothing. Instead, management decided to acquire him to get him started early in the training season. Jason Cole mentioned this as part of their rationale for going ahead with the trade even though they may have gotten him free if they had waited.

Exactly, it was so he could be part of the OTAs.

I spoke too soon as wondering about when the transactions were going to be announced.

They were announced shortly after I posted my thread. I was hoping Osuna would be signed, but Newman will be taking the role he would be looked at anyway. I would imagine that any signing from now on would require a cut.

Yep, we are now at 80 signed plus six in NFLE. When the six draft picks start signing we will need to start cutting.

We would have had to wait until 6/15 just before camp. By getting him now , he gets the time to learn the system and work with the Coaches etc..You want that just in case DC not quite there and you have a healthy vet in camp with some idea of what he's doing.
