Wasn't Joey Harrington Sorrounded by 2 top 10 picks wide receivers?

Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, and MIke williams i beleive they were all top 10 picks but if not they were definatly all top 15 picks in the last 3 years

I'm just wondering because these two receivers were picked up 2-10 picks respectively in the draft.

Yep...and look at the protection he had. You could have Rice on one side, Owens on the other and Mark Duper in the slot with Howard, Fletcher and Timbo in coverage but if the Oline suqs and the coaching suqs......then you will suq.

Too bad they didn't have 3 top 10 lineman. Its the same issue that plagued David Carr last year...and why rumors of them trading down are now rampant.

He was not surrounded with a good rb and O-line is the reason he was no good in detroit.

They have a good runningback in Kevin Jones...the problem falls on the line and the coaching...and of course..Millen.

Except KJ is always hurt!

Rogers isn't all that good either. I don't care where he was drafted.

Actually 3 top ten picks, but when the are injured, he can't throw to them...the problems Joey had were as much about the personnel decisions, coaching, attitude of the team, as it was about the surrounding talent around him. And don't forget the D that seemed to fold nearly every game either....

No, there's more to his demise than just a couple of good recievers...and don't forget, he shares some of the blame as well...

Kj is good but he is always hurt so there running game was not that great.

I don't think you should disregard the affect that good coaching can have, either. Look no further than our O-line for that. Harrington may or may not be a good pick up for us. We won't know for awhile. But he had talent coming out of college and alot of scouts liked him. I'm willing to wait until our coaches have had a chance to work with him for awhile before I pass judgement.

And why do you think he's always hurt.....

Hey, look at Miami's backs the year we went 4-12. Every back got hurt that terrible year behind that aweful line. Every single back got injured at one point for atleast 1 game, some for the season.

No wonder Ricky didn't show up that season, it probably saved his career!

yea but the o-line is poor.thats why kevin jones doesnt put out what he should be.i think he is a very good rb but just needs an o-line

he was in Detroit, thats all I have to say about why he wasn't good. they've never had a good QB
