Our defensive core is very good. Minkah, X, Bobby, baker, Taylor, godchaux, reshad still has a few years left, kiko has been good this year again, McMillan looks better and more like we expected, Quinn is still 27 I think.
Really on defense we only have two spots that I’m not really happy with. It’s obviously Mctyer and McDonald. With McCain back soon we will be stacked. Then we just need one of McDonald, Mctyer, or Tank to step up and fill that last starter spot well. That’s a nice competition for the one weak spot imo.
I am worried about wake though. Maybe he just needs time to get going but so far I’ve seen a lot more of Quinn than I’ve seen of Wake. Maybe I’m off because I don’t watch the games over again usually.
Offensively we’re a train wreck. A hideous, gruesome train wreck. We were winning in big plays by our speedy wideouts and that isn’t working now. Basically teams are saying “go ahead, throw short passes and run the ball...go for it!”
I hate to say it. I really do. I’m still mad at the guy a bit for pricing himself out. But damn it, we miss Landry right now. Badly. Much worse than we miss the other two.
