Gus was not as bad as you would be led to believe. I'll be honest, after watching what Feeley did at the end of the second quarter I would be more concerned with him and his judgement. Gus did ok, other than the fumble. He didn't get much help from blocking or receiving.
In addition, the defense looked pretty good other than the long plays by Parker. Crowder, Howard, Daniels, and Bell looked good. Welker was the most consistent player of the night on special teams and offense. I do not blame him too much on the fumble he had. Nor do I blame Newman too much for his fumble.
I will admit to over-reaction last nite to Gus's performance. I will not admit to over-reaction to the mental mistakes. They were just awlful and led to equal assessments by Dolphin and Steeler observers. I would still start Gus.

As saban said..we kept shooting ourselves in the foot repeatedly. All of that was not Gus's fault. He's the best we have right nowm but even that is not saying much.

Sorry, I entered the thread before looking at the board at large...

Lee, I really appreciate your comments, but there is another thread two rows below yours that says exactly the same thing.

Sorry, I did not look at the board at large. I was also trying to comment on the team at large but it started with Gus. But I don't want to be redundant.

I hope you didnt take my post personally. NO harm intended, really. :)

I just wish the board was less cluttered, so we can generate some more lively discussion. Man, Im really begining to feel old. :(
