WATN?-Mercury Morris-Sorry If Already Posted!

i just wished he could have won three more super bowls that would make him aa top 5 coach of all time.

Hes not a top 5 coach- he is THE coach, numero uno, winningest coach of all time- no one- ever- will win as many games as he did in such a short period of time....think about it 300 in 30 years...just wow.

Thats just one- how about the perfect season....how about the only team to be ranked #1 in offense and defense to go to the superbowl....

I would take shula in his prime over any other coach ever...hands down....period....:ninja:

Love Merc!! That `74 Playoff loss to the Raiders still haunts me to this day. Everybody knew that the Big 3 was going to the WFL after that season, but a lot of guys on that `74 team stepped up big that year (Morris, Benny Malone, a rookie named Nat Moore and even Warfield) but Stablers bs winning pass killed the dynasty...and we`ve been looking to win it all ever since.

Who are the four better coaches?
I love Shula as much as anybody on here, but just for the hell of it, I`d vote for Chuck Noll (4 SB titles), Tom Landry (went to 5 SBs and won 2, same as Don...wait, Don lost one with Baltimore, so Shula actually went to 6 SBs, but he lost 4), Bill Belichick (has won 3 SBs) and Jimmy Johnson (built a 2 time SB Championship team from scratch, same as Don did, AND he left one on the table for Switzer to win). Shula was a great coach, and I miss him to this day, but there`s a lot of coaches who you could give the title to "the best coach ever". Shulas SB record leaves a bit to be desired...not to mention his never getting a ring with Marino as his QB.

P.S...Vince Lombardi probably makes my list too.

Those are great names to have below Shula! but for every reason someone could come up with to but them above shula I could think of 2 reasons why they shouldnt. Don Shula will go down as the greatest coach of all times Undisputed.

Mercury went to my high school, my friend's dad was in his grade and talked to him a couple times, which is crazy just because my school is the last place you would expect a pro athlete to come from.

i want to go on record that i dint rhink there were four better coaches but the media has put billicheck (spelling ) ahead of shula and they have put shanahan and parcells ahead of shula. now my favorite coach is shula but the media soesnt think too highly of our beloved dolphins but if i had to chose coaches i would go like this.
#1 DON SHULA
#2 LOMBARDY
#3 JOE WALSH 49ers
#5 TOM LANDRY
#6 JIMMY JOHNSON
#7 BILL BELICHECK (spelling)
#8 JOHN MADDEN
#9 MIKE SHANAHAN
#10 CHUCK KNOLL

Actually the media still portrays shula as the best coach of all times. There may be a few uninformed that think short spurts of greatness make them comparable but all in all when ever you hear the name shula you hear "winningest coach of all time"

If you have any links that put shula anywhere other than the top of the list I would like to see them....My god he was undefeated against the jets for an entire decade. It was because of him that we have a winning record against all but 4 NFL teams. Undefeated.... averaging more than 10 wins a season when a season was only 14 games for his ENTIRE coaching career. no other coach can make these claims.

Undisputed all time greatest coach.:ninja:
