He didn't do everything right today, he wasted both his challenges. He went for it on 4th and 11, he didn't stress the importance of not beating yourself by doing stupid things to his players.If Marty was 11-7 in the playoffs thats just the breaks, but when you're 5-13, that's coaching.

Umm no...Marty sucks because he has lost 13 post season games as opposed to wining only 5, and usually in many of those contests he had the best teams, like this year for example... Marty sucks because he is a jinx, full stop. Do you think Bill Walsh, Jimmy Johnson in his prime, Bill Parcells, Vince Lombardi, etc. would've lost to the pats tonight with that team? No way!!!

They won the first challenge (Gates rec ruled inc.) To those of you who really think that Marty is a bad coach, and this game is a great example of it, congrats! You earned the right to not respond to any coaching decisions for the next three months....please! To those of you who think that he is "cursed" and are just bringing up that point, then please join me in hoping that he gets canned and call us the '04 Bo Sox! Realisticaly- Marty did do a very good (not great, but a solid very good) job of coaching tonight. His players let him down

Yeah. Parcells sucks because he lost as an underdog last week. His fault!
 
Marty Schottenheimer maybe 5-13 in the playoffs in 13 playoff appearances, but Miami is only 7-10 since 1985, in 10 playoff appearances also. So, yeah, at least he makes the playoffs.
 
The teams Marty was coaching earlier in his career were not great teams, thus why he lost in the playoffs. He did what he could with what he had and highlighted all the best points but it was never enough in his earlier years against other teams in the playoffs with much better rosters. Not many coaches have good records in the playoffs, and I think his amount of games in the playoffs speaks for itself. The coach can only do so much, the players have to play too.

OK, so when the hell DO you eventually blame the coach?

- When Browns RB Ernest Byner fumbles inside the Denver five when he's going in to score and the Broncos recover it and go on to win, it's on him.
- When Elway goes 90 yards in Cleveland to tie the game and then Denver wins in OT, it's the defense's fault.
- When the 13-3 Chiefs let the 9-7 Colts come in and hand them their lunch, it's on those players.
- When the Chargers commit untimely personal fouls and turnovers, it's the players fault again since they play the game and the coach doesn't.

OK, so when does the guy who COACHES those players get called out for it? Or is that never allowed? I know when you're 6-10 that you'd just love to be a playoff team, but year after year of being in the playoffs and losing isn't what we should aspire to, ever!

He gets called out when his teams are unprepared and don't go 14-2 during the regular season.
