available qbs thru free agency or trade possibility next year? off the top of my head i can think of only three maybe

brian griese
rivers
kitna

who else? i know carr is a possibility, culpepper?...id love to have culpepper.
 
David Garrard and David Carr are two other possibilities that come to mind. I'm not sold on either, although both would be upgrades over what we have.

carr is a great player, if he wouldnt spend all his time on his backlike a turtle, the kid can play. tough, not a rookie and in linehans system and his lazer arm. hed fit right in.
 
Harrington, there are a bunch.

I like Garrard a bunch. But can't see the Jags letting him go with Lefty getting hurt all the time.
 
theres no way he gets out of san diego. the repeoire him n gates with tomlinson have. i doubt san diego mgmt lets him out.

Yea but he has been performing, and very well, the past 2 seasons, I don't think they let him go, especially given the "3 some" (for lack of a better word) that he is part of with LT and Gates, to replace him with an unproven QB who hasn't played at all. If they do, yay for us, we better scoop him up, but I HIGHLY doubt it. SD has their own "Manning, Harrison, James" thing going on.

I wouldnt label the kid great yet but with time in the pocket I would love to see what the kid can do for us.
 
Schaub is a possibility in a trade.

I'm no expert on the Jets and their cap, but you'd think any effort they make to draft ML would signal the end of Pennington.
 
Man the Chargers are in a tough position. How can they ask for a 1st for a player thats never really played in the NFL nor is this player coming off a heismen trophy season. Rivers has been benched since he came into the league. I think he's sat long enough to lower his value. So this is a positive for us, I'm not saying we take or even want Rivers, it just adds another QB to the mix because the ability to aquire him will be far eaiser then Leinart. I think even though we are most likely out of any chance to aquire Culter,Leinart or if he declares Quinn, Rivers value has an impact on us and what we do and where we stand.
 
Rivers or Brees are the only two I would consider. Culpepper won't be available, Carr is awful, I don't think Schaub will be available, nor will Garrard be available. Bringing in Kitna doesn't really help the team, I can't see much of a difference between him and Gus, so the best way to get a Qb is through the draft.

Gosh, it's almost as if Nick knew what he was doing by not reaching for a qb last year and letting Gus babysit the position this year. Now, suddenly, there are a lot more qb options. Leinart, Young, Quinn, Cutler, Omar Jacobs, Rivers, Carr, Garrard, etc., etc. Solidified the RB position during a strong RB draft/FA period, this year we lock down QB!
 
At the top of the list and by far best option, MATT SCHAUB.... Brooks is going to Atlanta... Schaub says he wants out.... he'd fit in perfect.... and could start right away....
