We All Know We are Capable of Beating the Patsies This Year

I bumped this thread because what I'm trying to impart to you all in the OP still applies, even after such a disastrous streak of losses. I'd also like to add some perspective by recounting here Bill Walsh's career with the 49ers. I've always thought Philbin reminded me a bit of Bill Walsh in his approach to the game and his style. Hell, he's even running Walsh's WCO. As you can see, it took Walsh 3 years to even get to a playoff game with the hapless 49ers. Before you comment, please review the points I've made in the OP. I am NOT an advocate of cleaning house . . . yet. I think it would be a huge mistake.

However, if there is a GM or staff member available this year that Philbin feel's more comfortable with next year, I would listen to him if I'm the owner, and allow him to make some tweaks. It's all about getting us a perennial playoff team, folks. Not just a quick, and therefore unlikely to be successful, fix. How many times have we tried that now?

uuuuuh, excuse me for being obtuse OP, but what 'aha' makes you believe this Dolphins team is capable of beating/dethroning the Patriots? what has been shown that lends to that? NFL games are still :60mins not :30 right? we don't get credit for 2qtrs of football - or do we?

Hmmmm, 17-3 at half time on Sunday? My point was, we have the players to do the job. The players, however, aren't ready to win. They don't know yet how to function as a team and play like professionals through adversity.

In my update, I show that Walsh likely had similar issues, as he didn't get his team to the playoffs for 3 years either. We need to give Philbin more time to get his system installed as HE SEES FIT. From outside the organisation, Philbin may appear to be stubborn and inflexible about HIS vision for the Dolphin system. Well, I bet Walsh appeared that way as well when he was 6-10 in his 2nd year with the 49ers.

I'm asking for patience here. No, I'm not pleased at all with how things have turned out so far this year, but I'm also wise enough to know growing pains such as we have seen this year are not uncommon, even for Hall of Fame coaches like Walsh.
