we are so blessed to have Flores

And he is sitting on his seat while I'm looking for the proper kindling...

Another 5 - 11 season, with everything you included, I add lighting fluid.

A sub .500 season and I add more kindling.

Meh I don't think thats fair.

We are playing Ryan Fitzpatrick this season, a man who tends to faceplant after a promising season (he did it in both NY and Tampa) so id be impressed if we reach 8-8 this season. An undynamic but functional group of offensive weapons + Ryan Fitzpatrick screams 6-10 9-7 to me.

The only real issue I have with Flores is the Gailey hire. That would have been acceptable last year when we were dicking around with Rosen and Fitzpatrick, but it will take a hell of a lot to convince me that the man who was forced into retirement years ago by the job he did in New York and Buffalo is the ideal coach to hire when you know that you will have a first round QB to groom. Tua should be put into the ideal position to thrive on and off the field from day 1 - and that doesn't mean "hire Chen Gailey the 'play Ryan Fitzpatrick at 3 different club' specialist"

Same Ryan Fitzpatrick that played well last year and face placed (replaced by Rosen). The overall talent level on the team grew. I am going to put a value on it of 3+ wins, that's at least 8 wins.

I didn't say Super Bowl or even playoffs...I basically said that between FA and the draft we are an average team.

I love old school football, thus I am like last year cautiously optimistic this is a return to true football.

I love how our players were coached up, but we lost some coaches.

not sure how the Chan Gailey thing will work

Flores might end up being a very good coach, but only time will tell. I blame him for the issue with Fitzpatrick which caused the trade with the Steelers and now the Steelers have an all pro safety and the Dolphins have a glaring need at safety.

Both Gase and Sparano led the Dolphins to the playoffs in their first year as the Dolphins head coach and most Dolphin fans were singing the praises of both of them after their first year with the Dolphins.

Sparano took a team that went 1-15 in 2007 and led them to a 11-5 record in 2008. Flores did a good job last year with a team with little talent but now he has to show what he can do with a team with a lot more talent than was on the 2019 team.

I hope Flores is the long term answer for the Dolphins at the head coach position but Sparano and Gase taught me that one good year doesn’t prove anything as a head coach In the NFL. I give draft picks three years before I judge whether they were a good pick or not. The same goes for a head coach. So except for the Fitzpatrick issue I think Flores did a good job last year but I’ll wait another couple of years before jumping on the Flores bandwagon If he proves to be a quality NFL Head Coach.

It Does seem as though, the highly touted offensive coordinator, is held in higher regard, more so, than a defensive coordinator; when getting Head Coaching Consideration. It could be the defensive coordinator is viewed as Old School, whereas, the offensive coordinator is viewed as more innovative and creative. Which seems to fit in with the way the modern day NFL views itself, as an offensive driven league. It could be the reason we see so many young offensive minded coaches as HC's. While guys like Brian Flores get left behind, washed in the excitement of a league that pushes the excitement of TD's and big plays over hard nosed football. Ya know "Old School". I bet Flores last longer than some of the OC's turned HC.

Well, Flores never actually got as far as DC in New England, he was linebacker coach. But yea I take your point that fans tend to get excited about the hire of an OC rather than DC

I don't see anything positive in the long run coming from these glorified OC's

Chicago, the Jets, the Rams, the Cardinals, the Packers, the Bungles

I am seeing reports that the Packers HC has problems with Rodgers

I wasn't excited about the Flores hire but wow was I wrong.

you see Kingsbury's setup in the draft and look at Flores'?

Rams and Packers??? Not a good example dude, you need to watch more football. Very successful teams compared to us. And the Cards had a very nice season and may have found their guy. Not sure where you’re going with this

a) The Packers are great because of Rodgers
b) the Rams **** the bed pretty quickly.

dude

Packers are not great just because of Rodgers, that’s limited and shallow thinking.
and as far as the Rams go, they faltered last year, that is far from falling into obscurity. I just don’t agree with your post because you use bad examples.

Guilty of buying into Gase. When we hired Flores i was very closed minded. As his time in Miami progressed over the year I started to see the development and the players willingness to play hard for a team destined to fail. That showed me everything I needed to see. The guy is Leader of Men. We saw the culture change. That's progress and a reason to be excited for the future. The plan is very clear on what the Dolphins want to do. Build the lines, pound the rock, protect the qb. Just one dudes opinion based on the moves we've seen over the off-season.
