We gettin f'ed again with the wild card!

10-6 in '02 and got left out, and very likely if we go 10-6 this year we're gonna get left out. I think if we go 2-1 in the last 3 the Ravens or Colts would have to lose all 3 for us to get in, not gonna happen. Still can win the division at 10-6 if the Jets continue to freefall and the Pats lose 1, but it would be nice to have a little margin for error with a wild card to fall back on. 10-6 should just about be a lock to get a playoff spot, all those close games the Colts pulled outta their ***** last month are really hurting us now. I think finishing 11-5 is gonna be very difficult, that would mean we'd win 9 out of our last 10, i dont care if we're playing high school teams, that aint gonna be easy!!
 
yeah i know it sucks.. there is a lot of ways for us to make it tho... check out my thread "the official Miami playoff picture" it breaks it all down
 
If the Colts lose to either the Jags or the Titans we would own the tie breaker.

If the Phins and Colts both finish 10-6 and the Phins beat the Jets and once again, the Colts lose 2 games with atleast one of them being against the Jags or Titans the Phins would win the Tie breaker.

So basically, the tie breaker would take alot of weirdness for the Phins to get it at 10-6.

This is where the loss to Houston and or the loss to the Ravens hurt.

Had the Phins beaten the Ravens they would go if both finished 10-6.

We were 9-7 in 02. So were the Jets and Patriots. Because of tie-breakers, we lost the division (jets won) and we sat at home (so did the defending champion Patriots).

Not that it matters to us Fin fans, but if you really want to see somebody that got screwed by the wildcard, take a look at the Browns record and then take a look at the Bronco's record. Browns make the playoffs and Bronco's don't. That would really suck.

Those other divisions are kinda like being the Tallest guy on a basketball team full of midgets (no offense to little people but midgets was funnier) Sure you can beat them all day long until you meet a team your own size. Our division makes us be the best that we can be every year.
 
We're not getting screwed. We got beat by Baltimore. We blew it in Houston. That's how it goes (if it goes that way).

Wanna talk screwed? OK, here's what I hope: I hope Miami and New England both win out, and the Pats become the first team ever to miss the playoffs at 11-5.
 
...which is why it's even more imperative that we win out and claim the AFC East crown! :)

You are right finishing 11-5 is going to be hard. BUT the season as of right now is already a bright shining star in my mind. I am with you man. I remember a few months ago we were all talking about being totally happy with going 8-8 or 9-7 but when we get this close to actually making the playoffs we have to understand and appreciate the distance the Dolphins have come this year. I know that dont mean crap when it all come down to it but it is true never the less.

I am already 100% pleased with the season so far. Now I am going to root like hell we win out and make the playoffs in spite of all the naysayers.

I only remember because of how bad the Bronco's got screwed, they were 11-5 didn't make it while the Browns were 8-8 and did. The NFL better hope that it never happens again or there will be a riot.
