I see a lot of guys complaining but do you realize that parcells with a fourth round pick just added a solid middle linebacker and Fasano a second round pick who was stuck behind Jason Witten. Anthony Fasano is a solid blocker(really solid and can catch. I am hoping we trade down in the 3rd and get that fouth back.

I wasn't sure until I went over to Cowboy's fan web site and most people say Parcells took Jerry to the cleaners on this deal. I think Fasano is 24 and a way better blocker than anyone we have and a good solid pass catcher. Ayodele is also solid. We did great!!!!! :woot:
 
Not only is Fasano only 24, but he's a very young 24. He is a few days removed from 23 as his birthday was less than a week ago.

Heck, some players are drafted when they are 23. His best is yet to come.

He will be an above average tight end for us. He is better than anyone we could have gotten in the 4th round. This kid is just passed the age of 23 and he is more seasoned in the NFL than any player we will draft. Fasano is more ready to start right now through his 2 years of everyday practices against that Dallas defense that Ireland saw him in personally.

yeah, and 1 guy who complained said that we should have gotten BOBBY CARPENTER
instead.

now, if that person actually knew about the cowboys players he would have known that carpenter is pretty close to being a bust. he is VERY imature with attitude issues
and has parked himself on the bench in dallas and has alienated himself from his team
mates.

dont need that. so his opinion of the two dallas guys being "bums" doesnt carry much
water.

It seems like we have gotten quite a bit from dallas this offseason...i wonder if we owe them and if there is some kind of behind the scenes deal going on that might have us making some trade to them today? Something to keep in mind.

He was their second round pick 2 years ago.. At only 23 years old he was a very good back-up to witten and had it not been for the fact he was behind a pro bowl TE IMO he would have started.. Great pass catching TE and decent blocker...

Hes an immediate upgrade over Martin (God I cant wait till that bum is released... This signing pretty much ensures that...)
 
Hey, any 4th rd pick is a gamble and the odds are probably against them. To get 2 bodies for 1 pick is already a good deal. To get 2 players they have specific experience with is even better. And to get 2 players that will at least give quality depth at their positions and have legitimate potential to become starters, well that's getting about as much value out of a 4th round pick as you could hope for.
 
I agree with everybody this was a great deal. We tried to build a team with big names for years and look were it got us. It's time to try it the other way now with solid players.
