I do not know our Superbowl odds in Vegas - nor do I really care because as a rule I do not bet on sports - and I especially do not bet when it comes to my emotions which are pure Aqua and Orange!

That said, this team has something that I have not seen in a long long time. I admit it I am the ultimate HOMER! To me our team, and players are always the best, until proven otherwise.

This year already I/we have glimpsed a few things that I have not seen since Shula in the mid 80's. We have a coach who has shown signs of having quality leadership, pride, community connections, and a real sense of direction. Cam has not dealt with one regular season play and already I like this guy, not because of reputation or hype (Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban) but because of his presence and his decision making.

In addition, I have longed for off-season reports like we are FINALLY getting around here. Hagan-improved....Kelly Campbell-healthy, improved...Carey improved...Trent Green, a potential major improvement...L. Booker a seemingly good choice...Ginn, injury not a major setback and has the speed his was touted to have...Satele - the real deal...Porter - good move...Roth - improved...Rod Wright, healthy improved...Samson Salai -looking and acting like a biblical mahamoth figure that will crush you...Travis Daniels, healthy improved...Mormino, seemingly good choice...Martin, the new tight end has shown promise to be what was predicted...

To me that is quite a HUGE statement to have so many positives early on in this process.

Their are others too...And I appreciate the jury is out...way out still on many of these prospective players...But I have thought and seen so many poor decisions by management through recent past years and so many unexpected, devistating injuries that this year (knock on wood) have not appeared.

I am dreaming of an off-season like when Marino was drafted and people were floored. Or when Clayton came along people's eyes buldged out of their heads in AWE!

Now it is all about chemistry, decision making, execution and some really good luck! Maybe 30 to 1 superbowl odds will get me to do the unthinkable and impliment my get some cash quick scheme that will have us all rolling in the aqua and orange paydirt!

I share you optimism. It "seems" we are going to be better in every facet of the game. We have become much much faster on offense and have a higher caliber of athlete at many of the key positions. Defense will be top notch. Yes our secondary is not the best around but getting better and with the front 7 we have the secondary has to be consistent and play within themselves and things will be fine. Our return game and kicking game is head and shoulder above last year. Yes we have a chance, and I think a good chance to playing for something in December and on.

55-1 last time I checked. 10-1 to win the East. 7 (-130) o/u win total.

Got all 3!!

This year will be fun, with some growing pains. NEXT YEAR - WATCH OUT!

Every year at this time the news is almost always positive. All the top draft picks are wonderful, all the free agents are great additions, the coaches and personnel people are geniuses, etc, etc.

My heart says yes, we will have a winning season. My head, however, is more skeptical, and until I see the guys play well in a game, I'm not about to get my hopes up too terribly high. I've been disappointed before.

So, this year, I'm expecting nothing and I'm predicting nothing. We'll have a much better idea about this year's team during pre-season. This team has a ways to go yet.

I don't remember anyone talking about how excited we were to draft Jason Allen last year or how excited we were to get an unhealthy Culpepper or Joey Harrington, and our revemped secondary in free agency.

I feel that this year's offseason has a whole new structure to it, and it's not just the FA signings, trades, and draft picks to be excited about but it's the way this team is being run now w/quality leadership and a proper chain of command, that has been missing since the Shula era.

Actually, as Homeristic I am and I have a terrible track record to prove it, I am saying this year's off-season is unlike others in the past decade or so.

Last year - optimism around Daunte...Injury! Draft choice Allen - out of camp - Travis Daniels - injured - offensive coordinator leaving and creating controversy - Derek Hagan dropping things in camp all over the place - Ricky booted out for the year - Manny Wright acting like a psyche ward candidate...

And it was not just last year...It started before Dumbstadt and Olin Kreutz giving us the shove off, or Ricky using the ganja, or Boston destroying his knee, or McMichael beating his wife/girlfriend whatever, or Jimmy Johnson quitting on the eve of the season, or the Yatil Green disaster, or with our 1st pick of the draft taking that scatback from Asheville, NC (I forget his name) and so on and on...

The feeling I have right now has not been here in a long, long time...On this board I am saying it, but to my non-Dolfan friends with whom I LOVE to get in their face, I am quiet...I have a nice quiet confidence at this time of year, because we are not only FINALLY getting some results from those we expect to see something from, but our no-name longshots are showing up as well.

Its about time...

Thanks for the fresh air...Your fellow Fin Fans needed it bad :)

I think you are just thirsting for some football.

The camp reports are fantastic. But you must realize that there is no hitting going on....so a lot of the info will be slanted toward the positive side. The defense gets their payback when the pads go on in training camp.
Only then will you see who really is shining.

Hey Buddy, you'll be getting more than 30-1 this year. More like 50/75-1

Was wondering the over/under on wins! I am wanting to bet big money on the over if it is 7. I figure we are 8-8 at worse with a good possibility for 9-7 or 10-6.
With our defense, we only need to improve on offense to make us win a couple more games than last year. And we did that for sure!!! Take your savings and double them up!!!!
