Glad I got the receipts before the groceries were purchased. Very few people wanted Grant with that pick. Very very few. Now all the people that didn't want him are psyched with the pick? My view, although a positional need, he was a reach. Motivational issues - not what the team needs. Conditioning issues - not a good fit for 95 degrees and humid. Should have traded back as opposed to reaching for a guy that was projected to go at the end of the first round. Not a great idea to take that player at 13. Those who make the argument that there was nobody to trade back with are making a bad argument. First of all by saying there was no trading partner, you are implicitly acknowledging the pick was a reach. Second of all, you have no idea there was no trade partner, it could simply be Grier fell in love with the player. Grier loves the measurables, and Grant certainly has the measurables, just Raekwon Davis did. Fingers crossed he works out. My view, as of now, a meh pick. The full list of receipts is in the link below to the original thread on the subject. Congrats to @bane, he was about the only guy vocal about Grant. Lets all hope he turns out right. Will also be interesting to see how Walter Nolan does who went just after and was graded higher and seems to be a better pash rusher with fewer warts. Gray Zabel and a few of the other options that were available will be interesting to watch too.

I wanted a big fat guy for either line and that’s what we got, I’m happy.

Don’t care about the reach nonsense, he wasn’t going to be there at 48. If no one wants to trade up and no one else has managed to trade down until the Giants wanted back in for a QB so the reach stuff is a moot point.

Nolan? Where were u wanting grant? Nice try

It’s the Dolphins. None of this really matters until Ross sells and a new stadium is built on somewhere that isn’t an Indian burial ground. It’s just another draft in another year before another disappointing result.

I didn’t want Nolan? I don’t watch enough college football to have an opinion that detailed, I just wanted a big fat guy.

Grant looks like he could become a Dexter Lawrence type of player, that’s pretty exciting.
Congrats for quoting booger McFarland from ESPN. Now I know it's a bad pick

I don’t watch ESPN but I looked at Grant’s weight and the way he moves and thought he could be like Dexter Lawrence. It’s also a comparison in that Lawrence was picked after Wilkins and went on to become the best player out of the college teammates.

So if it’s a bad pick (and I’m not surprised in the slightest that you think that since you hate everything the Dolphins do) who would have made you happy at 13 with the way the board fell?

Trading back or Nolan. At 13 I don't want a player w motivational or conditing issues who was slated as a borderline 2nd rounder. Nor did most, we have the receipts

Better answer is not grant at 13. That is simplest way of saying it. Too many warts big reach
