Ron Rivera and Cam Newton were guess what, not fired in their second year together despite a disappointing 7-9 season. Instead they were given that all so crucial third year and it's paying dividends. But here people are ready to throw Tannehill and Philbin off the roof. Why?

I wouldn't mind a new offensive coordinator but ya obviously we need to give tannehill another year and philbin is a good coach

wow youre really gonna compare newton to hennhill?? really? look up the word delusional, please.

Keep Tannehill, dump Failbin. I am sick and tired of this team squandering leads or coming out flat. It's just ridiculous. This is the most poorly coached squad I've seen since Cam Cameron. They obviously have the talent to compete with EVERY team they have played (with the exception of NO), but poor coaching decisions and strategies have led to some disastrous losses.

I wholeheartedly believe Jon Gruden could turn this team around next season. There is talent to compete in this crappy AFC conference.

Because apparently the grass is always greener on the other side. But be careful what you wish for, the grass on the other side of the field could have more compost.

I agree I'm not happy with the coaching at all, WTH happened to the 2nd half adjustments??

3800 yards, 57% completion percentage, and 19 TD's last year. Yes, clearly Cam was Johnny Unitas reincarnated last year. You really think Panther fans were over the roof for Cam last year as they watched a team that was supposed to be playoff bound fall into sub .500 territory?

tannehill connects to a wide open wallace when we were up 16-13 and we're all singing a different tune, but he didnt and once again the whole game was put on the defense. it never changes man...

haha we haven't seen green grass in 15 years .... only a hog pit

How about matching RT with Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak as OC? I bet Mike Shanahan finishes that game today.

At least RT overthrew Wallace that time .... a first and a good sign

newton at times looks awful throwing but when it counts hes been clutch this year. his physical abilities are staggering...

Go look up Newtons 2nd year. People were already crowning him a bust.

Hah! Can't argue with that.

Tell me if I am wrong but Newton didn't have a great sophomore year which is a normal step. It seems QB's take a little step backwards in their second year which is where RT is this year. Perhaps RT will take a step forward next year.

IF the Dolphins don't make the playoffs, fire Ireland, get a new GM in here and let him decide who he wants as Head Coach.
If Philbin has to go, so be it. And then bring in competition for Tannehill, preferably another young QB with a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Apples and Oranges.

Let's not forget that when Rivera was named coach of the Panthers in 2011, they had just come off of a 2-14 season. The Panthers have shown consistent improvement since then. 6-10 (+4) in 2011, and 7-9 (+1) in 2012, 5 games better over his first two years. Philbin inherited a 6-10 team and took them to 7-9 (+1) in 2012. Rivera's first year improvement was much better than Philbin, and will already beat Philbin in terms of improvement over two years. We may not even finish better than last year. Rivera also plays in a much better NFC South, while we play in one of the weaker divisions.

Bottom line, Philbin inherited a better team and hasn't gotten them to improve that much. Rivera inherited a bad team, and likely has them in playoffs in his third year.
