really we just need a couple of play makers we may even get them in the draft don't really need to spend alot of money on f.a. i mean look at the steelers prime example they always end up letting there best players go cuz they don't spend the big money and look at how there doing.then you have a team like the redskins who are paper champs every year in the off season and they can't to nothing when it's time to ball.it's about cemestry coaching and just having guys on the team who just really love football!!!!!!!:woot:

good topic, my playmaker wishlist:

- #1 wide receiver
- a Westbrook/Sproules RB
- a franchise FS
- disruptive NT
- stud pass rusher

I don't think Westbrook and Sproles should necessary be considered the same type of runningback. Lets wait and see what he does in the next few years before putting him up there with Westbrook.

And Don't Forget A Play Making Inside Linebacker

I'd Go:
1. Stud Pass Rusher
2. #1 Wide Receiver
3. Play Making Inside Linebacker
4. Safety to team up with Bell
5. Bulldozer type Center and/or Left Offensive Tackle

I was fairly happy with our defense except for the lack of a consistent pass rush from both ends, an inside linebacker who is in on almost every play, and a safety to team up with Bell.

On offense our issues surrounded the offensive line not being able to create any push and/or gaps on running plays and the need for a top notch receiver to complement Ginn and Bess (just don't think Camarillo is the answer).

yeah but you cannot rely on a draft pick being a solid playmaker.. they are always very unproven.. that is really the highlight of FA's (you know what kind of player they are)

we have our Bulldozer type LT in Jake Long...we now need to work on our interior and get them up to speed...

my wish list short but distingushed .

dt Kevin Williams , DE ugo Chinasa , dt Ryan Mcbean

wr Chad Johnson wr Adarius Bowman and rb Shannon Woods

oh by the way lets us bring back the loveable and talented Randy Mcmichael and Sam Madison. (kidding)

the reason I like rb Shannon Woods is that he is fast and could be a great return man cuase Ginn isnt getting it done on special teams ( in my opinion)
think about this.
at wr we have Ginn and cinco on the far side way out on the edge and then put Bowman who is a great Blocker in the slot. then we could have Fasano lined up next to Carey and Shannon in the backfield

now that is what I call great fire power , unfortunately that isnt going to happne but i too can dream .

remember !!

I have to disagree regaring playmakers.I believe and I think the new Dolphin mindset is to dominate in the trenches. We need to dominate both offensive and defensive lines. The team has gone about improving both lines but needs much improvement before we can be considered elite. There is one move out there that would dramaticly improve our defense it would be the signing of Haynesworth. He would make everyone around him markedly better and not to many players have that ability. We would have to over spend and out bid many teams but I believe he would make that much of a difference and bring this defense from very good to elite. As far as offense we also have to address the offensive line but the good news is we have two of our starters comming back from injuries.I think we found a "diamond in the rough" with Donald Thomas.Maybe one of the stud centers Mack,Unger,Caldwell,Wood,Luigs,Shuman would all be an improvement in what I have seen with Mack far above the others with his dominating senior bowl week.

By improving the offensive line to a point where we can run whenever we want rather than turning to trick plays to have any success and to give our QB enough time to make intelligent
reads.

I think we allready have the playmakers here. Our running game with Ronnie and Ricky is great.Cobbs is an incredible special teams player and his return skills look great once given a chance late in the year.Cobbs is the type of player that new england steals from us and becomes a super star. The more I see of him the more I wish he would get more touches per game than Ricky. Our receiving core has Ginn on the verge of something special,Bess is very impressive for his first year and could also be special.Camarillo was having the best year of all before his injury and our ends played much better than expected.

The playmakers are here but one thing that is holding this team back is our QB who had a great year but his abilities limit our wide receivers to a point where itis impossible to stretch the field. He did lead us to the playoffs but his short commings became so very obvious that other teams will play us the same way.

I think the only playmaker we need is Chad Henne
sometimes you have to take a step back before you can go forward.

Henne may not have the initial success that Pennington had but he is this teams future and after seeing all the young QBs and what they achievd lets give Henne his chance.

The number one reason why the Steelers are where they are is because they consistently draft well. That's where their depth comes from, and that's why they can afford to let good players go when it's in the team's best interest to do so. They don't break the bank on a guy nearing the twilight of his career because there is a young, hungry player chomping at the bit to take his place.

A couple of more offseasons like last year and we'll be there. But it takes time, and you can't afford to blow draft after draft as we've done in the past. BP was 100% correct when he said this is a talent acquisition business.

we also need a couple of officials that like the dolphins as the steelers indeed have ...hehehehee .
