Here is the just of things. No matter who comes in and replace Nick Satan, we are not going to be good for awhile. Our O-line is a mess, our D-line all qualify for a senior citizens discount at Ponderosa, the Qb situation didn't get any better this year then it has. Chambers IMO did not really live up to what was expected of him this year, granted he had 3 different passers. The secondary stil remains shaky. At this point I just pray for a 500 season next year. JT has said he might retire, which would be a HUGE loss for the D. And with him gone who knows how long Zach stays. I am just having difficulties at this point in finding any bright spots in this whole thing. :tantrum:

Saban did us all a favor, and left after only wasting two years in Miami. That's the best thing that could have happened to us in my opinion. Thanks Nick, by taking the Bama job, you saved us years of misery....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I agree. I hope Wayne hires someone who truly wants to be a good NFL coach and will stay for a while.

and you know another thing, what is there not to like in Miami?? Half naked women, beautiful weather...cmon!!:dolphins:

It's been mentioned before that Saban left this team in arguably worse shape than when he came here. I'm not entirely sure that's true. He had players that fit his system problem is that the system will change and I don't know if we'll have the right players for it.

On the bright side we will be approximately $20 million under the cap so we have the ability to get younger on defense and get the right players. The sooner we get a coach (and I'm not saying we should rush the process) the more time he should have to evaluate what we have and what we need.

I'm really afraid that our beloved fins are going to suck for some time to come. Saban sold us snake oil. We have an older team and the teams in the division are younger and better, take a look at the bills and jets. Oh God, it's going to be tough the next few years :( , but it will be a test of our resolve as Dolfans.

Hindsight being 20/20, I think I must agree with Blitz.

The Jets are overachieving big time. The Bills only won 5 games against the rest of the league. Stranger things have happened. Just have faith, with the right GM/Coach hire this team could be good in no time. That's the way the league is set up these days.

The Dolphins need to get the QB play at a higher level. I went on NFL.com and checked the passer ratings. While I don't buy into all the statistics of the passer ratings, it does provide some indicator of who the better QBs are.

For the AFC playoff teams, here were the passer ratings (the rankings are for both NFC/AFC):

#1 Peyton Manning
#2 Damon Huard (Trent Green was not ranked on this list)
#8 Philip Rivers
#9 Tom Brady
#12 Chad Pennington
#14 Steve McNair

All the above QBs were ranked in the top half of the league - the Dolphins' Joey Harrington was 29th, only ahead of Vince Young on this list.

In 2005, Frerotte was ranked 28th in the league in passer rating.

This is the primary problem the Dolphins need to get fixed. Good QB play masks a lot of other problems (just look at Indianapolis). I know Culpepper is a big if now, but he was ranked 3rd in passer rating in 2003 and 2nd in 2004. If he could even be in the top half of the passer ratings, that means he is contributing well and probably would mean good results for the Dolphins.

I agree, I was hoping he'd announce he was staying BUT things change quickly in the NFL. W/ the rihgt hire at HC, the right staff and a good offseason w/ the draft and FAs you guys could be a playoff contender.

If Daunte gets health and gets anywhere near the form he had a few years ago, it'll make a huge difference and we'll be playoff contenders.

If not, we're fuct.

Cut ties w/ Daunte NOW. It will be a big mistake if you bring him back. Even when healthy and when "good" he still isn't a good QB, he can be a great fantasy QB but he's not a winning QB.

Sorry but we were what 3 games out of the playoffs?! A better offensive mind, FA and a top 10 draft pick and we can't improve 3 games?

I think someone needs to smile more, things aren't as bad as your tinted glasses make them seem.

Good grief, if we had signed Brees last year we'd be getting ready for the playoffs right now. And that's the key to next season, good, consistent qb play. If we get that we'll be right in the playoff mix next season.

dude the only reason that is, is because the AFC is terrible, not because we were good, who's wearing what guy? And Egypt wasnt built in a day, you cant just expect us to be hunky dory next year, under a brand new coach, sorry, it doesn't work that way.
