Today, in hiring Bobby Petrino, the Atlanta Falcons sunk any hopes the Miami Dolphins had of hiring a great offensive mind to coach their football team in this off season. Over the course of his career wherever Petrino has gone he has brought great offense with him and he has done a great job of playing to his players strengths. When he was at Auburn his rushing attack was unstoppable, in his only NFL experience with Jacksonville he was involved in creating some of the hardest to stop offensive packages in the league, and most recently at Louisville he set offensive records with both a superior running and passing game. He has always done a great job of creating excellent offensive gameplans regardless of the type of offensive teams he has had, and I thought that this was exactly the kind of guy we needed in Miami. Now that Petrino is unavailable I honestly see no available candidates with that kind of offensive pedigree and coaching experience so it looks like we will probably have to suffer through at least another season of unbearably boring, bland, and underachieving offense. It doesn't make sense to hire another defensive guy when we already have Capers making this defense work, even though I love Jim Bates, we need a guy to whip these offensive players into shape and start to make things happen on that side of the ball. Unfortunately it does not look like that will happen this year, but I do like the prospect of getting either Cam Cameron or Norm Chow in here to run this team even though neither of those guys are of Petrino's caliber. Let's go Wayne, get your head out of your *** and sign a good coach. Please do it fast, because I don't know how many more seasons like the last 4 I can take.

I dont even think we interviewed Petrino. Im glad we are taking our time with the search though.

Right. Without a doubt the ONLY coach out there that can help our team. There is no hope for us now. :boohoo:

Don Strock is still available for Offensive Coordinator!

Dolphins need to hurry before Marty Schott hires him after Cam Cameron leaves.

Theres a reason Wayne didn't even interview him...i mean he's interviewed everybody and their mother for the HC position, but not petrino. Seems to say something to me.

So again you would want to put our team in the hands of a career college coach. There is a saying in life, 1st time shame on you, 2nd time shame on me! Did you really think Wayne would take the chance of getting that "egg" on his face, not to mention Petrino did to Louisville exactly what Satan, I mean Saban, did to LSU. He signed a 10 yr. $25 million deal with Louisville at the start of this season, and told all of his recruits he wasn't going anywhere, but oops, now I'm gone. Wow that sounds awfully familiar. So, thanks, but no thanks. Oh, one other thing, your offensive "genious" also plays in the Bog East, wow there's a tough conference! Let's see him make the offense work in the SEC or the NFL, before we anoit him the crown of offensive genious!

Don, this is a shameless attempt to find yourself a job....tsk, tsk :shakeno:

I hope you aren't seriously implying that by missing out on a college coach we have no hope now. Another college coach? After Saban are you serious? We don't need a college guy!! I keep hearing Norm Chow's name mentioned - are people CRAZY!! He has been in the NFL 1 year and in case people didn't notice - Tenn's offense was not good! Vince Young is a great athlete but he is no star QB. He ran for as many yards as he threw for.

Get a highly successful NFL coordinator in today's game (not 5 years ago), that is hungry and has had a good HC mentor.
