We are not an O lineman or CB away from being a great team. We need playmakers and our roster has been pretty much void of this the past 15 years (few exceptions). Some won't admit it but we have been one of the most boring teams in the league over this span. Playmakers win you games. Draft a playmaker, forgot the O Lineman nonsense. Who is the true face of our franchise right now? who has it been over the past 15 years? Ramsey, Elliot, Jack Via trade up or at our pick.

Tannehill, landry, parker, cameron, ....Elliot? I agree, the team needs playmakers and especially leaders.

Agreed we need playmakers/ difference makers. I'm hoping they don't go OL till at least 2nd.
Makes me wonder about a guy we could actually get at 13 like Nkemdiche. Could be great value there if you think he's able to put his questionable character issues behind him. Guy, could be a disruptive force, especially with Suh. That DL makes our LBs and CBs better already. HE might be the only (or one of) guy with real game changing type potential left at 13.

A man after my heart!!
I think Miami is getting to the point it has play-makers (or potential play-makers) on O - Landry, Parker, Cameron, Ajayi. D, not so much. Jones, Wake, and that's about it. It's possible to put Williams and KA in there as a potential-play-maker. Where my worry focuses is LB and CB. Miami hasn't had a play-making LB since, well, I don't remember. Zack? Forcing fumbles, INTs, TFL in CRITICAL moments? Don't exist in Miami. CB? Grimes could get INTs but, IMO, was just as much a liability. Unfortunately, there is no metric to measure that in the draft - it's pure luck. We've all seen play-makers in college become JAG in the pros.
Jack? Ramsey? One of the top CBs? I don't know who the guy is, but you're right, Miami needs play-makers.

I think Nkemdiche would be interesting but we can't afford to miss on another 1st rd pick, especially one with baggage. I honestly thing Jack is the 2nd best prospect in the draft. How ironic that the reports of his knee being degenerative start coming out days before. Teams throwing smoke screens, the kid is gonna be a monster at the next level.

Your shiny runningback wont do much when the qb has been sacked 4 times and Tony Lippett has allowed Demaryius Thomas to catch 6 long tds

Actually a star RB would absolutely help our mediocre at best QB, so your wrong there.

Yeah, but are you expecting Jack to be there at 13? I'm trying to think of what is reasonable at 13. Looking at the names I am guessing are still on the board, I just see NKemdiche as the best talent left. Bet he goes real quick right after us too if we don't want to take the chance. Rex is probably drooling. He's a gamble for sure...but really they all are.

If I hear "We need playmakers" one more time......

It's a Checkers player concept people try to apply to a Chess level game. It's a team game, and we struggled last year because we didn't have nearly enough solid football players. WAY too many holes. Let's fill all the holes first, and see how good the playmakers we actually already have really are.

If Jack is on the board at 13 then it means his knee is an absolute mess

Just wait till some of the game day thread posts about we cant stop anyone in the secondary.

This team is starving for corners, its painifully obvious.

your absolutely right about needing corners. Same could be said about RB, OL, MLB and dare i say QB (but just for arguments sake lets give him a 5th year)..

I don't know. A guard picking up the right man on a DL twist or stunt on a key 3rd down so the QB can make a good throw and keep the chains moving seems like a playmaker to me. :idk:
