I like Wes, he is a fighter, a great slot receiver and a solid punt returner. But when are we gonna realize that he is just TOO slow to be returning kickoffs. I have preached this since preseason and the consensus of the Welker lovers are that he does no wrong. I'm sorry, but everytime he caught the ball at the Goaline or a little in front, he struggled to get to the twenty . . .there is no threat back there man, and with this team u can't constantly be going 75 to 80 yards down the field, and on every kickoff thats what we were presented with . . . just awful.
This is not to bash Wes at all, I know the team has alot more problems than this, so please don't come here with "Wes is the MVP and our best player", I think its pretty obvious we need some kind of speed back there returning kicks, to give us better field position. Wes is getting killed with his workload, tho effective at almost everything he does, kickoff returns is just not for him, we need a burner back there, someone who can get us to the 40+ yardline 2 or 3 times in the game.
