Our team is sorely lacking for PHYSICAL players. We have nobody who puts fear into an opponent. We need some defenders who can knock the fillings out of an opponents teeth. Did you see how the Ravens were laying the lumber to us today. Their defense is filled with players who know how to hit hard. Our defense and entire o-line looked like a bunch of pansies compared to the Ravens.

joey is really the only physical player we have and he's been quiet lately. we really need a physical line on both sides of the ball and we should be a much better team.

Jake Long didn't. He played well, and, physical. The rest of them...Not so much. But, honestly, what are you expecting from backup OGs? There is a reason they didnt' start.

Porter is not "physical". Yeremiah is physical. He is really our only physical type D. ANd I agree we do need more physical, Ray Lewis, SUggs, Bell type physical players.

We need more physical LB's, even Roth doesen't really scare people that much.

I really hope we can try Walden at LB, I have no clue of his experience at LB, but I do know that he is a mean mofo.

Yea...Lets draft rey maualuga or brandon spikes. They will probably get picked before its our turn to go but lets hope.

Roth was as physical as hell when he was a DE at the U of Iowa but he's pretty much been a puppy dog in the NFL.

Yeah when I saw him get dragged by Flacco today .. I was just thinking, uh wow, we need someone who wants to put a hurting on the ballcarrier, especially the QB.

Roth is just not cut out to be an OLB. You watch him and he plays stiff and somewhat robotic. He's a guy who only runs a 4.9 or so in the 40 so he doesn't have the explosive speed you need.

Remember this is Roth's first year in as a Linebacker.. a full off season of training may help out. I am sure they will target his training to some of his weaknesses if they plan on keeping him.

I agree. Good guy to have as a depth player, but not someone that should be starting.

It's not so much that our defenders aren't physical enough, they just weren't as good as the raven's players. Being a good defender and physical defender are pretty much the same thing.

I think we have lots of physical players. Ferguson is physical and did a very good job inside today. Kendall Langford as well. Crowder is very physical, he just doesn't read plays very well, and react as well as Zach did.
Same with Roth, he's not scared to smack people, he's just not a great player. YBell is physical too.

Parcells, Sparano, and Ireland will probably be on the hunt in a few weeks talking to coaches and looking at hours and hours of game film to find us some MONSTERS to put in the trenches for us next year. We need HULK looking dudes to go up against teams like the Ravens. :chuckle:

Reading this story tonight from a Baltimore sports writer ticks me off.

"The Ravens joined the best of the NFL two weeks ago when they beat the Dallas Cowboys, so they did what was expected Sunday. They physically pounded Miami for the second time this season, and you knew it was going to happen unless the Dolphins had found a supply of steroids on the beaches in Fort Lauderdale during the previous two months. Tough guys, the Dolphins aren't."
