well from what im seeing is we are just giving up on the run i just do not understand it.we have two great rb's we have to get these guys the ball more to take pressure off the qb or we will be in for a long season. :confused:
 
I hate to agree with our old coach's philosophy but I totally agree....
 
We Will dude do not worrry, Just enjoty this season and relax cuz the big year will be next year we will finish 8-8 and that will be great news going into Saban's 2nd season
 
You cant exactly run more until you have established that you can pass good. And from the looks of things the R&R express may have trouble getting on track if we can't pass.
 
We need to run? That's a great plan.

Somebody just needs to tell the five guys up front to get a push, and maybe it will happen. Until then, this team runs at the pleasure of the other team's defense.

I agree. Just think, last years run O was worse. At least were goin up!

Ronnie Brown sure looked good the last two weeks...getting a 5.7 YPC .....

If you ask me, the difference between this year's running game and last year's running game is a matter of degrees. There has been a HUGE upgrade at RB that helps, and we're running an actual offense that the OC understands. That's also very helpful. The OL is better, but I don't think they're really that much better at their run blocking tasks. It appears to me that perhaps Houck only had time to start fixing either the pass or run blocking and chose to start fixing the pass blocking first.
 
The offensive coordinator has never had to factor two great running backs into a game plan and that is showing up in his play calling. He needs to remember that "This is not the Viking's" this is Miami. Say no to "Gus".

Todays play calling was very suspect.........
 
We can't run more because our passing game reeks. Take a look at Jamal Lewis, no O-Line and he can't produce as well as he could have. Shaun Alexander, LT, Edgerrin, Dillon, they all benefit from having a good QB that defenses have to respect. The QB and the WR's need to step up.

A year ago I would have never believed that I would be wishing that we ran more! :rofl3:

13 carries between Ricky and Ronnie is unacceptable. We didnt even try. We just came out throwing. We cant put that kind of load on Gus, he just isnt that good...
 
Also, our passing D needs to stop giving up big plays because doing so puts our equally horrible passing O into desperation mode, thereby shutting down the running game. It's just like our high school football team. We had a crap O-Line, cruddy WRs, an oft-injured QB, a darn good RB, terrible passing D (I played CB primarily in nickel formations and I had no help from safeties). This is eerily looking very similar...
