This kid picks up blitzes that are a split second from breaking my heart.

He saved Gus' life at least twice in NY on Sunday.

Also, I've noticed that he doesn't always wait for the blitzer to approach his Quarterback, instead locating him early and attacking him.

I understand that he looks hesitant and slow before choosing his hole and sticking it, but it looks eerily similar to our NFL rushing leader the year after he led the league.

Our O-Line is stank, but despite that, I feel Ronnie is proving that he's worth the 2nd.

Also, he doesn't look bad running the ball.

He always moves forward after contact.

Unfortunately, contact is occuring behind the line of scrimmage.

We should be happy with Ronnie because he's obviously a special player.

 finally a great post..thank you..its refreshing after 9million ronnie is a bust threads

agreed... he'll be fine....

Ronnie Brown is not a creator like a Barry Sanders... Ronnie Brown needs a seam... now, certainly that is saying a lot... but imagine what he could/will do when the blocking improves...

When he begins hurting safeties instead of linebackers, when he shows off the 4.4 speed and takes it to the house, when he snares 3rd-and-7 passes over the middle, a lot of people around here will be singing a different tune...

My favorite aspect of Ronnie's game is how he finishes off runs. He's great at prioritizing the final half second of a run and getting that extra yard or so before going down. We haven't seen a classic one of those yet. Many times in college he really busted or hurdled a couple of defenders to get into the end zone. Once he gets a seam and makes a reckless run those strengths will become evident. And you're right, he's much better on pass blocking than I initially thought, especially when it's an obvious assigment and he can pick up his responsibility quickly.

But this is not a retirement party, where you blab superlatives about a glorified SOB. The question at this level is not whether Ronnie is a special player, but was he the best and most special player available? My answer will always be no.

I like Ronnie and think he is very coachable and will be great in th future. At this point in his young career i think he has alot to work on in terms of his running ability. From what i get from watching Ronnie i think he runs a little too upright espeically when running up the middle. I think he will be a great compliment once ricky gets back and will learn alot from ricky. I think everyone knew caddalac was the better pure runner over ronnie so him coming in and doing well early isnt a surprise. Ronnie is gonna need more time, that being sad i always liked caddalac alot and think he will be very very special

I will take everyone of your thoughts and say yes! SO far thats what we see. But I'm not sold either way and still say he hits it big. Our game plan doesn't set Ronnie up well OL prob. Ricky won't do much either, unless after 5 wks the team gels a bit which will happen and i'll see this thread again! lmao (ricky is god and ronnie sucks) I layed off the internet for 2 yrs almost and it worst than ever

EDIT: Ricky would get the same #'s now.
2ND edit: Ronnie has not been use to the hitting here in NFL, he was beat up last week. He is work in progress. Now this is no excse next wk I expect some work on him. (This week I think I saw alot of plays that protected his body) he lowered the shoulder but not nearly like against Denver.

I'd like Ronnie to run for over 100 yards on Sunday and see the haters keep their current positions on their idiotic threads here.

Imagine if an opinion was permanent, and if you chose to voice it, you were tied to it forever.

People just like to talk and complain around here.

I know I'm not giving him any of that guaranteed money, and if you're not, you should calm down.

This Ronnie hatred is really confusing me, unless its everyone who wanted Cedric Benson acting out.

Nobody on this board REALLY wanted Cadillac. I know that because I started a few threads about taking either him or Mike Williams if not for Brown (my first choice), and I got ripped on every thread.

20/20 hindsight doesn't count for hypocrits.

It's way too early to tell if Ronnie is a bust. Look at Larry Johnson, this is his third year and he finally "got it". I just want some improvement from game to game with him.

the people labeling Ronnie a bust after 2 games, behind a Oline thats struggling to gel in the run blocking game, are prob the same people who were calling Ricky a bust they year after he leads the leauge in rushing, because he couldnt do it again behind a terrible Oline!! :shakeno:

i actually think Ronnie has nfl maturity, but he hasnt gotten used to the speed of the NFL just yet. compounded with the fact that he missed alot of training camp, and hes not getting the holes to run thru. And from what i've seen so far, most of his carries have been between the tackles, and a majority of the time, hes getting hit behind the line. all of these factors will hurt his progression as a runner in the NFL. But he has shown great presense picking up blitz's, and great hands. i think we will see a different look from Linehan next week with regards to how he uses Ronnie. He will run him outside and see how he does with a little room in front of him.

Ronnie will be fine people!! He just needs to catch up to speed. Anyone who thought he would come in and light up the league, was expecting way too much. He is what he is, a ROOKIE playing behind a SUB-PAR OLINE!! and hes doing fine!

You don't have to spend a #2 overall to get a good "blitz pick-up guy".

Looks like ronnie is lacking some confidence and pressing to amke a big play. His minimal training camp time has left him inconsistent reference his trying to run before catching a 2 yard pass.

I think Ronnie has excelled at blocking and short yardage situations where clearly it takes more then one person to bring him down. He seems to always be moving forward.

I think the offense would be wise to get him more involved in passing game and put him in open space on flare outs and screens to then pound it once he gets comfortable in the game.

I think what everyone is trying to say here is that Cadillac is proving he is a great back with vision of the field and although not large he can also run between the tackles.

We need to be patient cause I think Ronnie shall show the same ablility and more.
