than we do currently. I have noticed not only are we terrrible at blitzing, but we seem to get gashed by a long run, or give up a long pass play. Are we so predictable with our Blitz looks or something. We blitz heavy to the left, they run to the right and vice versa, do they know our play call or what. I am so puzzled as to why we have little success at Blitzing, the only thing that works with any success seems to be the occassional corner blitz.

We wouldn't be bringing enough pressure to the QB without blitzing IMO.

True, but Finsgonnarock makes a point. Our blitz package seems to get picked up more this year than in recent memory(I have never seen Zach Thomas stuffed so many times). Why? I thought Capers was suppose to be an upgrade. On top of which it seems like we blitz a heck of a lot more often and give up big plays. I'm not going to pretend to know the answer to this problem but it sure looked like 3 teams, 2 of which aren't very great, had our number.

I agree, this team is a very underachieving blitzing team with the talent they have. I've seen them blitz and get literally NO pressure on the QB at all and that's just something that a successful defense needs. To get pressure on QB's. But then again i dont think you can stop blitzing because this team really can only make plays when they blitz and when the gamble pays off. I would like to see them increase the EFFECTIVENESS of the blitz. So we could make some big plays on defense and win games.

I read in another thread "Don Capers send playstation blitzes":sidelol: :sidelol: :sidelol:

I'ts sad but really true, the blitzes are very effective but no in the way that he called, I want see more Channing's blitzes.

Our DB isn't the best, so why send the Safetys to the line and waste a player who we need. Just remember the damm long pass at PIT to the TE, Zach was the last player of our D

www.footballoutsiders.com did an interesting study courtesy of their game charters about blitzing. its in their 2006 pro football prospectus. i'll post a little here."in 2005 the worst possible strategy was to blitz 7 or moreon 2nd and long. as defenses went from 4 - -6 pass rushersnet yds per pass and dvoa steadily dropped [dvoa is a new way to measure teams and players according to situation and some other variables. its football outsiders new stat] .but with 7 or more rushers net yds per pass nearly doubled and dvoa skyrocketed in effect making the avg offense suddenly 2x more powerful than the colts". well anyway back to miami i notice usually more than 6 blitzing when we blitz, and we get caught it seems like our defenders just run to the blockers besides the fact that our guys can't cover 1on1.

I hear you. With the exception of Yeremiah Bell, our blitzers are lousy. The linebackers never seem to get through. They run straight into the block. Plus the disguise could use some work. It seems like everyone is still thinking and not reacting.

Houston's line sucks

I agree, but after this week. Their OL is bad, maybe worse than ours.

were not terrible at blitzing.
our 2ndary sucks man.

our lb's are ocverrated, and we have no outside pass rush...

we need a big fat dl.... like jax's 2 super fat blubber dt's..

Blitz at the right times. Like the Booker reverse play against TENN. I like the Chambers Reverse because its faster. Soon Ronnie Brown will be throwing. I promise you that.
