Tampa will be without either of thier starting receivers and they have shuffled thier starting linebacker back to safety. This should be a very good confidence building session for our passing game and our secondary.
With the exception of thier inside linebacker they have very inexperienced linebackers so that should also open up our running game and tight ends.

On a positive not for them, Cadillac Williams will be thier starting runningback. You just have to pull for a player that has been injured as much as him and still is making an effort to be a player in the NFL.

In addition, I think their QB's are second-rate (McCown and Leftwich)...after watching them in preseason...I think this should be a showcase game for us. If not, we may have some issues...

We should destroy these guys...

I dont think Leftwich has played second rate. He has not had the starting receivers and has not made many mistakes.

Those are typically the games a team struggles with, because they don't think they're facing a team's best and relax.. well I take that back, we'll in preseason and our guys are still fighting for jobs.. yea, we should have a good game.. but this will also test our team in terms of playing down to a team who may not be as good, we did that a lot last year..

I do think this will be a solid test for our pass rush and run defense because the Tampa line looks pretty solid and should present a good challenge to our defensive line. This will be the best oline we played this preseason I think and they have Ward who did gain a 1000 yards last year.

Any way you slice this thing, I would consider it a loss if we arn't ahead by at least 10 point by the time the starters come out.

I was hoping Tampa was at the top of their game wso we can get a real test. I want to see what we can really do not an easy game or a confidence boster. An easy game is not a confidence boster, I woould have preferred to play New Orleans this week.

Sorry man but Carolina's OLine is clearly better than Tampa Bay's.

Carolina had 2 backs averaging over 4.5 yards a carry, one of them was over 5.5. And they were very good in pass protection last regular season with Jeff Otah and Jordan Gross protecting the edges.

Otah did leave the game last week with a little scruff but he came right back into the game after a couple plays and was fine.

Its all opinion but Tampa Bay has two probowl type players in Davin Joseph and Jeff Faine and some other solid players like Zuttah, Trueblood and possibly Penn if he can come back to form. Tampa has a very underrated Oline.

They may be underrated but they aren't better than Carolina's OLine.

Well like I said thats your opinion, I have mine. The bucs skill position players are not close to Carolina's so of course the oline in Carolina gets more acclaim.

Carolina averaged 4.8 yards per carry on the ground, which was 2nd in the NFL behind the Giants. Carolina had the 3rd most rushing yards in the league last year and were just 6 yards from 2nd..

And Carolina ran for almost a half yard more per carry than the 2nd place team did (Atlanta)

And they pass protected very well.

I saw a lot of both teams on NFL Rewind and if you think Tampa's OLine play was better than Carolina's then I have to question your football acumen.

I heard sparano say turner to get some reps with 1st team. Look for red zone fadejumper.

Question all you like still does not make me wrong. Carolina also has two first round draft picks at runningback. Tampa had injuries galore at rb and were down to trying to rely on oft injured Caddilac Williams and rookie Clifton Smith. Tampa has a very good runblocking oline just does not have elite runningbacks. In 2007 thier runninggame avg was higher than Carolina and that was with Earnest Graham as thier lead back and little else.

Personally I could care less if you question my football insight. The differance in the level of runningback for both teams is quite apparent so of course they will have a higher yards per carry.

It doesn't matter what happened two years ago. The Dolphins O-line stunk two years ago in pass protection compared to last year.

All we can go by was the last time we saw the lines play as there were new starters inserted since a couple years ago.

And clearly, CLEARLY, the Carolina line got more push than Tampa's did. And clearly pass protected better.
