The benching of Ernest has been one of the most questionable decisions that the coaching staff has made since they have established themselves as the new coaching regime. Most of us Dolphin fans are aware of the money that this player was sign; therefore, he should be out there contributing in spite of his "projected contribution".

If we are going to succeed on the field then we should at least bring him in some downs and see what he can do at game time; however, this is not possible by totally inactivating him for the game. One of the things that I have a problem with is how Ernest was one of the best third down receivers last season, and now he is on the bench watching games.

Question:

Do you guys believe that Ernest will have a good performance if we activate him?

By inactivating Ernest, is he that much of a liability compared to the other receivers?

He should be our #2 receiver. Hagan isn't good. Ginn is decent. Bess is alright. Bess for

1. Ginn
2. Wilford
3. Bess
4. Hagan

I'm in the minority that could care less if Wilford is activated. Sure he'd be a nice target in the redzone but if the guys who paid him all that money don't think he earned a spot, I think that speaks volumes. It's not like Parcells and Co. want him to fail. Thats one of their guys and they would love production from him. He needs to earn his opportunity, not just be given it based on his paycheck.

Wilford blows.

HORRIBLE signing by Jeff Ireland.

If you can't even be active as a WR on this sorry team, that says something. Something about Wilford. And something about the GM who signed him

Wilford = Sparano's Dog House.

This has nothing to do with Ireland. Wilford did well in Jax at times. Ireland identified a young up and coming player that was available. AS I RECALL, this board celebrated the signing. I have a Jags fan as a friend, he hated seeing Wilford leave. Called him their best receiver. Not the best endorsement, but is saying something.

I simply believe this isn't about Wilford being a bust or mediocore.

I think this is about Wilford not being his best. There's something amiss with all of this. Wilford is not the 6th best WR on our team. Sparano is motivating him. Forcing the light bulb to go on. He doesn't want him to be a starter, he wants him to be the best he can be... which is probably better than any other WR on our team.

He's just waiting for Wilford to realize his true talent.

I firmly believe Sparano is showing Wilford he is hurting the team. He's carving out his niche by showing him why the team needs him. I think when Wilford "gets it", we won't worry about this every again.

GMs identify talent and compatibility of a player with a system. But it's the Coach's job to mold the players into a team. If Sparano cannot sit a multi-million dollar talent on the bench to prove his point... then salaries will start dictating authority. THIS is how you keep egos in check. Show them that the contract they signed doesn't mean they are not accountable.

Sparano is doing his job. Maybe the fan's should realize we have an organization that doesn't tolerate BS at any level. Realize for once, doing things the right way means egos get hurt. It's not about the players, it's about the team.

We've seen this preached before, but players like JT and ZT were above the rules. With this organization, NO ONE is.

And frankly, I think it's about time. I'm ready to see leaders who make the tough decisions.

ACCOUNTABILITY starts at the top.

If that is true then FIRE SPARANO!!!

Seriously, any coach that would sit and not dress a capable player in a "REAL GAME" jus to try and motivate him. That is a low level bush league coach who should be fired ASAP

It could be worse - Ronnie Brown could be returning kicks

Real coaches understand that W's are not the result of hard work. Success is the result of hard work. W's are the result of success.

Sitting a capable player in a "real game" just to try and motivate him is EXACTLY the type of motivational technique that most head coaches are afraid to employ. They allow the high priced players get by with stunts other's can't. This destroys a team.

This is HOW players like JT begin dividing a coach's lockerroom. A coach's most feared weapon is benching a player. If he cannot use it on certain players, other players will never respect him.

How many times has Randy Moss clipped his fingernails on the Patriots' sidelines?

Can you IMAGINE Randy Moss walking off the field on an onside kick with Belichick as the coach?

Do you think that type of authority begans AFTER you win games? NO. It's in place Day 1. And at some point, a player challenges it and becomes the example.

Coaches afraid to deal with "fragile egos" do not come from the Parcells' tree. The underlying themes in Bill Parcells' repetoire is DISCIPLINE and AUTHORITY.

Fans were afraid Bill Parcells' presence would Coach and GM this team. Frankly, I'm seeing the opposite. He's teaching his Coach and GM, but he's also allowing them the freedoms to learn by doing. Ireland and Sparano are performing their respective duties. They are not just figure heads.

I like what I see.

It's long overdue.

Where was Ronnie playing Week 1?

Starting RB.

What did Cam's stunt prove? Nothing. It proved that regardless of how I try to discipline you or motivate you, I'm going to let you coast by.

Cam's teachings had no lesson. He was afraid to discipline his players.

"Club Med" doesn't have a dungeon.

"Club Parcells" is built on top of one. Just ask SHE.

I hope you understand that such a well thought out and intelligent post is going to be totally rejected by the lunatics who think that screaming for every Dolphin player and coach to be fired after every game makes them real "football guys". Both your posts are a breath of fresh air as well as being totally accurate. Thanks for representing.

This is the problem. The organization paid the man to do his job. He didn't get it done in preseason. He appearantly was lazy too.

Previous regimes would cater to guys in the past based on salaries, draft status or stardom.

It's nice to know that this regime could care less if they have 16 million invested in you. If you slack off or don't produce they will put guys like Camarillo and Bess in there ahead of you who WORKED their butts off up until now.

Who knows if it will bring great results or not. But weknow that whoever is out there deserves to be and will give 200%

We can't keep 2nd guessing the coaching staff on everything they do when they are trying to implement a MINDSET and a smashmouth team.

I mean it's a little contradictive. In the other thread many are placing blame on certain members of the defense and saying Hill should be cut on that Favre lob miracle TD pass. Some are saying Hill gave up on the play (Like myself)

But then I come on and read a thread where people wanna put Wilford in agame who slacked off and didn't produce up till now.

We can't have it both ways. You can't wanna take slackers out then put 1 in.

There are more fair weather fans around here than ticket-holders for a Maxim - Playboy Nude Volleyball Match.

Once we see him on the field...then we can decide whether he belongs there. Until then...I will give the coaches the benefit of the doubt, especially since Wilford did not exactly stand out in preseason except in one game...

We can't just say, "he should be out there!!!" We don't know if he has been stinking it up in practice...
