We should look to sign McKinnie and Jerry as depth...

i'd be ok with McKinnie. face it, if Albert misses some time we're looking at Dallas THomas playing significant snaps at LT. McKinnie, while not remotely close to stellar last season, could hold down the fort for a few games. no to Jerry. just no.
 
I would resign McKinnie and Clabo as back ups. Clabo actually played better as the season continued. They would be OK for back ups.
Really, what better options are out there?

You'd first have to get them to agree to take backup money. Why would either rush into that? They can get that at the last minute from a number of teams, so it makes sense for them to hold off.

McKinnie would probably come back, but he laughed last year when we asked him about playing RT. Said he's never done it, never plans to.
 
I'd be open to mckinnie but to me, jerry ain't worth bringing back. He probably would weigh in at 400 right now. Dudes always coming to camp fat.

Jerry has been really disappointing. The guy had the talent, but no work ethic. He probably has his arms wrapped around a bucket of KFC and a bowl of mashed potatoes and gravy right now..
 
It's hard to keep players who don't have the best training habits motivated to stay in shape as backups BUT I'm still down for this because talent and depth on the lines is crucial. Of all the things Ireland was terrible at that was one of the worst.
 
Jerry obviously never fit the scheme here.. So no to that. Mckinnie will not want to come in as a back up as he showed this past year he can still start, BUT if he was ok with it i'd definitely sign him for 1 more year.
