Henne looked freaking great in his second NFL start, the dude has a cannon and can make plays Pennington never dreamed of. Our running game is DOMINANT, our run defense is ELITE.

However.... ALL YEAR LONG we are still getting burnt by the deep pass. Yesterday was particularly bad, as we seemingly couldn't stop the deep ball all night long... We did OK vs atlanta and good vs Barfalo, but Indy and SD also tore us up deep....

If we can address this major problem, I think the Dolphins are a legitimate ELITE TEAM!!!!

Our other problem is our wide receiever group as a whole, but if we add a big body #1 guy, all of a sudden Ginn becomes an EXCELLENT #2 and our WR core isn't as much of a problem.

We need to figure out how to stop the deep pass...

To be fair, Sanchez did deliver a couple of nearly perfect throws. Also I believe the perception that they did well in the air is predicated by the pass interference and illegal contact calls. Take those away, and our secondary did alright but not shut-down.

The run D looked worse.

I definitely think our secondary is the biggest problem because while the WRs arent great, our excellent running game and wildcat mask that a little bit, however we just keep getting killed in coverage back there. I love Bell, but damn, him and wilson can't cover a 90 year old grandma back there.

E.Berry is waiting for his name to be called by the Dolphins and his nickname will be

"the final piece".

I'd love to have Berry on this team. To the OP, the run defense was pretty bad last night, but has been good all year so I'll give them a pass. The safety which was suppose to be a strength this year has been putrid and Will Allen has had 2 terrible games thus far. Sean Smith needs to stay on the field at all times. If you want to put Davis in, he needs to be replacing Allen or Jones.

Our downfield coverage has not been bad -- Its the pass rush that sucks!

We gotta start getting some heat on a QB! Any pro QB can pick apart a defense if he is allowed to sit back and make clean unaffected throws.

where are you JT and Porter!?!?!?!

the silver lining is they score so fast their dead tired defense has to go back on the field for another 7 minute dose of the R&R express. We should dare them to keep throwing it deep, they either get a quick score or a quick 3 and out.

Taylor can be found running around the RT and being pushed completely out of the play. Porter is invisible so I can't answer that question but he's always been a guy who either gets sacks or does nothing. Roughly half his tackles are going to be sacks. He doesnt contribute much to the run defense.

IMO from most needed to least needed

1. Safety - see how different the steelers D performs when Polamalu is playing and when hes not. Another good example is the Colts D and Bob Sanders.

2. Linebackers - Joey Porter, Jason Taylor.. theyre gonna be gone 1-2 yrs from now. Who would replace them?

3. Nose Tackle - Ferguson might retire next year. Who knows? we need someone to replace him. Im hoping Solia could be the answer.

4.#1 Receiver - I think we need one. But its not an immediate need IMO. Camarillo and Davone Bess are reliable receivers. Ted Ginn is a good deep threat. Then we also have Brian Hartline and Patrick Turner.

We need more than just the FS/SS replaced IMO. The linebackers are one trick ponies. All porter and taylor know how to do is rush and they cannot even get to the qb so that is a waste. Roth is MIA and crowder should have never been resigned.

This offseason, I would love to see Miami pick up a good ILB and OLB as well as a FS and a NT.

I wouldnt mind seeing the Dolphins go entirely defense in the draft. In a perfect world we'd go all defense except for 1 pick...Jermaine Gresham... he'd be awesome in our double TE sets, give Henne a big time threat in the middle of the field and help our WR a lot.

I don't see how the run D looked pretty bad.. if anything it looked above average instead of ELITE, but still

T.jones and L.washington, 23 carries combined for I think 84 yards... less than 4.0 average is above average run defense in the NFL. It might not have been ELITE last night, but it still wasn't too bad
