The Dolphins have so far defied the laws of football gravity thanks to their explosive offense. They are 3-0 despite losing the time of possession battle by six and a half minutes per game.

That’s third-worst in football.

And it needs to get better. If it doesn’t, their defense will wear down. The question is not if, but when.

Yes work on it until you get it corrected.

And........trim that beard.

This is a bit misleading. Yes the defense could get off the field quicker but the offense has been guilty too with abundant 3 and outs or short series. Both the defense and offense have been making game changing plays to help the team win and deserve credit

True, but the offence has also had a decent number of quick scores, as well as short fields due to turnovers and good punting.

Yup agreed, thats why I think the "explosive" moniker used in the article to describe the offense, while maybe a bit premature, holds water. Hopefully as the season goes on and the offense keeps gelling around Tannehill and his weapons, it becomes more consistent over 4 quarters. I think they can do it between Gase figuring it out and just continuining to gel together.

"we stink". Tell us something we don't know Matt.

lol is there anything you say that's accurate or on point?

Miami's defense is rated No. 6 in the NFL in points per game allowed.

And Miami's defense is the best in terms of opponent passer rating. But let's not let facts get in the way of your ridiculous hyperbole.

Defense carried the team the first 2 weeks, but it is clear the coaches do not want the players drinking the Kool-Aid just yet.

when it's 3rd and long, i wish the def would follow Rex Ryan's philosophy (of all people)
He would blitz, force the qb to throw quick and then tackle.. the receiver couldn't run to the sticks because the ball was coming out quick.
i just hate when they play zone and give qb all kinds of time

Problem is we’ve been trying to correct it for years
Didn't we have one of the best 3rd down defenses under Coyle?

3rd down defense needs to improve...we're 24th in the league.
3rd down offense needs to improve...we're 27th in the league.
Every game we've played this year the opponent has run more plays than we have. Granted the offense is more explosive than its ever been and that plays a factor but those 3rd downs, on both sides, play a bigger factor IMO.
