We reversed the script this year by trading our 4th for Houston's 2026 3rd round pick. We learned from our experience with the Eagles. LOL I don't mind the move since it seems they were not too excited with what was there for them. I like the idea of positioning ourselves for next year as opposed to reaching for someone that didn't give them value with the 116th pick. We also received Houton's 6th round pick this year for our 7th round pick # 224.

Last year the analysts said when you change to a future years you lose one round so a 2026 round three is equal to a 2025 round 4.
If true, we didnt gain much unless next year is a deeper draft through out.

We obviously didn’t value anyone on the board enough to keep that pic as opposed to third.

Traded back and gained a third in an allegedly stronger draft. Nice move by Grier which indicates he is safe for next season.
It's possible that the Fins use that 3rd rounder to trade for a veteran after the draft.

Here's the entire problem Grier might get decent trade value but Grier just is not good at drafting. He will take this pick move up in the draft higher to get a better player but that's like yesterday he uses 2 picks to draft 1 player. Next Grier has to overpay in free agency to fill the holes on the team. Then Grier because of the money he overspends in free agency cannot resign his few draft picks that turn out well. It's apparent they have thrown the towel in on this season with McDaniels inability to become a real head coach, Tuas inability to stay healthy and Griers failure as a successful GM. Let's pull the bandaid off as we already have another head coach candidate on the team Weaver. Since this a throwaway season give him his chance and if he works out great and let Weaver pick his own GM if he sticks. Hopefully that's the plan.
