Ok, first of all I'm the first guy to say we should try to win all of our games no matter what the situation is. I loved the fact that we won 6 meaningless games down the stretch last year even though it hurt us in draft position. However, this may be a case where we should want to finish last in the AFC East this year. It comes down to next year's schedule.
If we finish third, we will have to play Tennesee and either Denver of Kansas City next year. If we finish last we will have to play Houston and Oakland. Who wouldn't want these matchups instead? Also, although I'm not 100 percent sure how the home and away thing works, I believe that by finishing in last place we will get more favorable road matchups against common opponents of the AFC East next year, namely the AFC North and NFC East.
Now that we are officially out of it, I believe we will finish last in the division. We will continue to play hard and may pull off a few wins to end the year but I think that Buffalo is playing pretty well now and will win some more games of their own along the way.
So in closing, I do want us to continue winning, but I will be happy if we continue to win and still finish last in the division.

[mod] personal attacks not allowed [/mod]. Lets finish 9-7 and BEAT THE JETS!!!!!!!

As I said in my post, I WANT TO WIN. I hope we win out and I understand that by doing that we would guarantee at least third place in the division but I'm just saying that I would not be too upset if we finished last because it would help us out greatly next year. The difference between 4th and 3rd creates a HUGE difference in difficulty in schedule next year.

Look, we aren't catching NY or NE.

So last is between us and Buffalo and odds are it will come down to just luck anyway. No need to "HOPE" for it. Since it probably will just happen.

So, why even bring it up!?!

It changes 2 games. 14 of our games are already determined. 6 division games, 4 vs and entire AFC division, and 4 vs an entire NFC division. And really the teams that finish 4th in the two divisions that we dont play (Houston and Oakland) for all you know could be better than a 2nd or 3rd place team in those divisions.

Who's to say that they will suck next year?

Seems to me that Houston beat us this year and they also beat us in a home opener when Wanny was our coach...there are no "cupcake" games if you don't come to play.

There are only 2 games that are determined by the previous year's sched, this year Buf got the toughest of those 2 games and they finished in 3rd. teams change very quickly, what may look easy now may not be next year.
