Ok, first of all I'm the first guy to say we should try to win all of our games no matter what the situation is. I loved the fact that we won 6 meaningless games down the stretch last year even though it hurt us in draft position. However, this may be a case where we should want to finish last in the AFC East this year. It comes down to next year's schedule.
If we finish third, we will have to play Tennesee and either Denver of Kansas City next year. If we finish last we will have to play Houston and Oakland. Who wouldn't want these matchups instead? Also, although I'm not 100 percent sure how the home and away thing works, I believe that by finishing in last place we will get more favorable road matchups against common opponents of the AFC East next year, namely the AFC North and NFC East.
Now that we are officially out of it, I believe we will finish last in the division. We will continue to play hard and may pull off a few wins to end the year but I think that Buffalo is playing pretty well now and will win some more games of their own along the way.
So in closing, I do want us to continue winning, but I will be happy if we continue to win and still finish last in the division.
