We will never have a QB consensus unless we draft someone everyone loves, OR unless we make a deep playoff run with a younger QB (Henne or maybe Beck).

So here is my question:

So? Just for funs sake... pretend its 2009 draft day. Henne/Beck haven't progressed to the point of starters, Pennington gave us enough wins to guarantee he'll start duing his second year. Who would you like to see picked up to join the fight for 'the quarterback of the future'?

I know its mighty early, but even if you think this is UNLIKELY (since so many of you are in the bringing Henne or Beck in the middle of the season camp). But you gotta admit that there's some chance that Pennington wins starting job again for his 2nd year. If that's the case, either Beck or Henne will be left to battle against a newcomer QB straight from the draft.

Right now Matt Stafford of Georgia is supposed to be a late top 10 pick...which I hate to say it.. might be a spot where we land.

Timmy Tebow is a wild card, people hate his mechanics/play style, but stats like his often make teams salivate and do crazy things (remember Alex Smith?)

Next projected late first/early 2nd round are Cullen Harper of Clemson which I think could be a gem and a late 2nd rounder in Hunter Cantwell of Louisville--who I think has yet to prove anything.

(NOTE - This is a hypo.. its one of many possibilites, I know that maybe Beck gets cut next week, but I'm asking what your thoughts are with this particular scenario)

Tebow won't declare for the draft after this season.

He will return for his senior year like he has already stated.

How many times do these young guys change their minds? I'm not saying he will or won't. I'm just saying that they'll be a lot of pressure for him to go, specially if the Gators win the title (I know that to some of you that's unlikely).. I wouldn't count him totally out of the draft.

MOST players say they'll stay... very few say "I will go to the draft after next year"

BUT I guess you'd hate Tebow in a Phinz jersey?

Those players aren't Tebow. :d-day:

His top priorities are his faith, his family, his schoolwork, and THEN football. I can definitely see him following the same path that his hero (Danny Wuerffel) took.

We'll see what happens after this upcoming season.
