I like many here know that Wallace is grossly overpaid, but we will NOT be cutting him next year. He will be here 1 more year I think. Looking at his salary structure (http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/mike-wallace/) He is owed $12.1 Million next year with $9.6 Million of that being DEAD. That means we would save a mere $2.5 Million if we cut him. I just dont see how we can justify that.
However in 2016 his cap hit is $13.3 Million with only $4.4 DEAD. That is a $8.9 Million savings. That makes more sense.

I agree with only 2.5 million in savings not worth it. Hartline needs to go

Wallace is here next year. Either Wheeler or Ellerbe is here next year you can't cut them both. Miami is in marginal shape salary cap wise next season. They need to be thrifty in their spending.

meh id cut him if a better fit came onto the market, but we have already paid the worst years, might as well keep him around now

Wheeler will stick around as well, no point paying him just as much to play for someone else. Id make him Jordans backup

Why cut him I would trade him... same cap hit either way.

we can always hope there is one team dumber than us and will actually want to pick up Wallace's contract. Does such a blind organization exist?

I do think he will be back next year…because I think they will cut Hartline and Gibson and they won't want just one returning starter at WR. However, I think you are looking at this in one season isolations. If we cut him next year…yes we only save 2.5 mil, but then we also won't be paying him any money from that point forward. So if you wait to cut him in 2016, then yeah you save more for that season…but you also would have payed him 12 mil in 2015.

He's a dynamic player and will be back. How he plays next year will determine whether he is back in '16. If he and Tanny find chemistry and light up the league then we will find a way to keep him in '16.
