The bad news is apparent (and a favorite topic of most on this board) but here is the way I see it: we're 0-3. There are 13 games left and, I'm sorry, but anyone who was expecting an 11 or 12 win season was fooling themselves.

The offensive line is DRASTICALLY improved from week 1 and the running game is humming. We are looking at a young QB and lots of potential turnovers but if we can control the clock, NOT FUMBLE ON THE 1, and improve our secondary play, I see NO reason why we can't expect a 9 win season.

What's killing us is (mostly) little things. We haven't played a "complete" game: week 1 it was poor o-line play, week 2 it was dropped passes and week 3 we couldn't finish inside the red zone + a young QB seeing his first real action.

Our receivers (Ginn and Fasano) need to get their heads out of their butts, we need to take care of the ball and our secondary MUST LEARN START COVER AND TACKLING. The other positives are that the Patriots are very beatable as is Buffalo. New York looks strong but a rookie QB is bound to stumble.

It's not a 3-13 season yet, fellas. This team (unlike teams past) DOES have the talent to find a way to win.

We WILL overcome,

Next year.

Next year is THE year. We should be playing a favorable schedule and should by then have all the pieces in place to really make a legitimate run at the Super Bowl. This isn't a bad football team, but this is a football team that is not as good as the football teams they are playing.

talent? where?
this team needs help at almost every position
a complete disaster
the toonie and his cronies are 2 blame

Right now, we have no threat of a passing game, no pass rush to speak of, no ability to make a stop on third down, no ability to convert a third down, and a very vanilla gameplan across the board. We look awful right now, I'm sorry but I'm not very hopeful. I'm having a really hard time getting excited about this team moving forward.

I wouldn't characterize the game plan as vanilla. The wildcat is anything but, and no one has been able to stop it. We just haven't been able to punch it in. We must finish.

I think we'll be fine on third down it not like we were playing against Trent Dilfer the past 3 weeks: Ryan, Manning and Rivers make a LOT of teams look bad on 3rd down. We need to get better - no doubt. I just don't think we're doomed quite yet.

You talking about the Patriots that just handed the Falcons their butts? The same Falcons that stomped us? Hmmmmmmm

You can't go comparing scores. You have to evaluate match ups and we match up to them reasonably well. If we compared scores and said: "well they beat the Falcons and the Pats beat the Falcons then they'll surely beat us." That's why we play on Sundays.

We HAVE to beat the Bills. We're already 3 games out, if we beat the Bills, and the Saints beat the Jets(theres a good chance that will happen) we go into a home MNF game against the Jets only 2 games out of first. Phins better wake the hell up though.

Agreed. If we drop one to the Bills next week, my posts will be taking on a very different tone.

A team like the Titans will overcome 0-3, because they actually played well in close games. Miami played like crap in all 3 games, and not we are chum with teams like the Browns, Rams, and Bucs. We have all the potential in the world, but that doesnt win games.

I wouldn't say that the Colts game was out of our reach. This game wasn't even a runaway - the pick six came after our starting QB went down. I'd argue that we haven't been truly "out" of either of the last two games.

Doesnt matter if we were out or not, we played like crap and should not have even been in the games.

Maybe we didn't "deserve" to be in the games - deserves has nothing to do with it - but if you're acknowledging that we WERE in them while playing poorly. If we put it together then...well you do the math.
