I keep thinking about how weak our division is lately. It seems that the Dolphins are the only team moving fowad rather then backwards. The Bills have a lot of work to do and they wont give us much competition, espiacally under Dick Jauren. The Jets team is an absolute mess, they are way over the cap, and they just signed a coach who wont be taking them to the playoffs any time soon. THe Patriots are coming off a weird and not good season. Plus, Tom Brady is injured and has to have surgery. What happens if the Patriots have the same problems as the Jets did last year. I think this weak division gives us a chacne to step up and take it.

Definately the weakest division in the NFL in my opinion. Although that can be debated. It definately gives the Dolphins a fine chance to take the division next year. I would say it was a lock if not for Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. If we get a servicable quarterback(Jon Kitna), franchise left tackle(Winston Justice - USC), an upgraded #2 wide receiver(I don't like Booker), and then concentrate on making the defense championship caliber(Saban's specialty) we should grab the AFC Least crown and hold on to it for quite some time. The offensive line and defense will hold this team back in the short term but look for those pieces to fall in line by the 2008 season and the Dolphins to become a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Wasn't the AFC East considered one of the best in the last few years? It's weird how things change so quick. Better take advantage

The Pats as long as BB is there will always be in the fight for the division. At least for next 1-2 years, it will be us vs the Pats.

NY Daily News

According to today's NY Daily News, next years superbowl in Miami will be played by the Pats and Cowboys! I don't think Dallas can make it next year!:sidelol:

Please. Not the Cowboys. Living in Oklahoma I wouldn't be able to listen to local sports talk radio for months!

Are you serious???????? No division comes close to being as weak as the NFC WEST. Seattle pretty much gets six gimmes a year.

You're stretching here. I think we have a shot at the division, but anyone who thinks the Patriots are in trouble and are going to roll over is being delusional. Tom Brady will be fine, and the Patriots are still the team to beat in the division. Any team can have the problems the Jets had last season.

OK, FA hasnt even started and they can predict the winners?

"The severity of the injury isn't known at this time", so it sounds like something minor (although possibly somewhat painful). I wouldn't get our hopes up too soon. It certainly doesn't seem to be on the same scale that Palmer's is.

In the AFC, I would agree. But overall, I'd say the NFC Central (whose teams' records are almost a mirror image of those in the AFC East) and the NFC West (the only division not to have more than one team over the .500 mark) might be weaker.

Seeing as FA hasn't even begun, not to mention the draft, camps or preseason, I'd say it would be a little early to be gazing into the crystal ball.

Wow... like they say, great minds think alike (not sure how that would pertain to me, but that's what they say or so I hear).

I agree...as of right now Seattle coasts in the NFC West against the Rams, Cards, and 49er's....the AFC East has to formidable teams right now, the Dolphins and the Pats. The Pats might not be the caliber team they were when the won the first 2 superbowls, but come on. If you think we're good, the beat us for the divisions and made the playoffs, so at least half of our division is solid.

Well, I was serious but I was basing it on the Dolphins perspective and not really including them per se'. So let me think about this again from how I think the teams will rank this coming season.

Seahawks > Patriots
Cardinals < Dolphins
Rams > Bills
49ers > Jets

Yep. I am still serious. :D

I actually think that the Cardinals are going to be pretty good, the 49ers are going to take a big step forward (relatively), and the Rams ??? I am not sure but I will give Linehan the benefit of the doubt. They have the weapons on offense. :hide:

The Colts and Seahawks both finished 1st overall in their respected division, what they have in common? they each played the others division, NFC West no doubt the worst, but the Colts's division is pretty lame too, Colts play the Texans twice? Texans and Titans are drafting in the top five, for a good reason. Both those divisions are pretty bad.
