There are a couple very important things that lead to a young QB (John Beck) having success. The first is protection from the O-line now at the beginning of last year we seemed to do a good job and at the end of the year it got alittle better but a young QB needs time to progress through his reads and make a decision to throw and no young QB will do that in 2 seconds like our line was giving John Beck. With a deep draft and Sparano with his O-line background i think they can find a tackle in the 2nd and a guard about anywhere.
Second is a good running game which we had at the beginning of the year this will keep the D guessing and doesn't allow them to pin their ears back and go head hunting. When Ronnie went down so did your running game but with the emergence of Booker and Ronnie coming back and Ricky who no matter what seems to be productive. And the FO has brought in a blocking TE already to help with those sets so we are most defiantly moving in the right direction .That coupled with the rebuilt line leads to more holes better running attack and less pressure on Beck
Third is weapons. Now this just isnt those combos like Harrison and Wayne/ or TJ and Chad in Cinci. Weapons are people the QB trust guys with good hands good feel for the game and guys who make all the plays. Ginn showed that he has the talent and work ethic to be a #1 receiver and he is dynamic in the open field. Wilford has very good hands and i would take him in a jump ball situation against almost anyone. Ronnie and LoBo have good hands out of the backfield so there is 4 weapons. Camarillo really came on at the end of the year and might be a good option in the slot. So def see us drafting a TE in the first 3 rounds and this is pretty good class so i see us getting a very good productive reliable hands guy who is good in the middle of the field. The Jury is still out on Hagan maybe a fire can be lit up under his butt by the new coaches we will see.
So analyzing this i see a vision of the FO i know it is alot to ask for but i think the parts are in place to make this happen. rebuilding the O-line leads to two of the three being fixed. a beefed up line helps the running game and protection. I really feel good about Sparano coaching up the o-line to be good. now the weapons part is fairly easily fixed via the draft or after the last round of cuts in June (i think) i wouldn't be surprised if the O can put up alot of points this season and our D will be vastly improved as well. I am really excited about the draft the season and the future and so should you unless your a Matt Ryan fan cause your heart will be broken April 26th about 10 minutes in.
