Wednesday Night News Roundup!

Thanks Nub.

Id rather wait then spend a day 1 pick on wright anyway. For a 5th or 6th it might be worth a gamble but nothing higher. After reading about his workout I am totally unimpressed with his effort and lack of motivation. How can you possibly come in slow and weak on the biggest day of your life? No thanks.

As far as McMike, i just hope he gets help. Hes got too much talent to just poop away like this.

from what i heard from others he ran just fine, in fact didnt he run very well for DT's?

It wasn't his 40 time that was so bad it was the other running drills that he did poorly in.

He ran well and has talent.

However he has multiple question marks.

- 2 game starter only (only played 20% of snaps)
- work ethic issue
- only benched 16 reps which was something like 7 lower then any other DT in the draft this year.
- ran the shuttle so bad that scouts wondered if he ever did it before.

That's my biggest worry.

I still think we'll drop a 3rd on the situation. We've become masters at really not knowing what the heck is going on.

does anyone know if any other teams are after him? are we trying to pertend that we are not interested in the hopes of scooping him up with a later pick?

what do the teams with more wins last year have to give up in relation to us, i.e. what are the chances of maybe pulling that off?

i think he he without question worth a 5th-6th, as you guys have stated...

I have a gut feeling Saban will probably throw a 4th in the mix for him, but I don't think that will be enough. However if it is... may be ok.

yeah, the more i think about it, some would say a fourth is too much, but this guy has got to have a ton of upside. we are already rebuilding with youth, anyway. he may work really well in a 3-4, which i think could have value for us down the road...

I'd put a 4th on him. If another team really wants him more, let them spend a 3rd. If we got him, fine. If not, eh.....
