WERE IN THE PLAYOFFS BOYS! Lets talk week 17 and all the possibilities!!

Note: No matter what - PITT is locked as the 3rd seed, and HOU is locked as the 4th seed.

These are the only 3 games that influence the seeds:
MIA .vs. NE
OAK .vs. DEN
KC .vs. SD

SCENARIO 1: (favorites to win)

NE beats MIA,
OAK beats DEN
KC beats SD

In this scenario - NE is 1st seed, OAK is 2nd seed, KC is the 5th seed, MIA is the 6th seed. ---We would play PITT, and then NE to get to the AFC Championship.

**If we lose to NE in week 17....no matter what else happens, the road to the AFC Championship will be the exact same.

SCENARIO 2: (MIA upset)

MIA beats NE
OAK still beats DEN
KC still beats SD

In this scenario -OAK is the 1st seed, NE is 2nd, KC is still 5th, and MIA is 6th ---we would play PITT and OAK to get to the AFC Championship!

SCENARIO 3: (MIA upset , SD upset)

MIA beats NE
OAK still beats DEN
SD beats KC

In this scenario - OAK is 1st seed, NE is 2nd, MIA is 5th and KC is 6th. ---We would play HOU and then OAK or NE (depending on outcome of PITT/KC game)

SCENARIO 4: (ALL UPSETS) - BEST case scenario!!!

MIA beats NE
DEN beats OAK
SD beats KC

In this scenario - NE is 1st seed, OAK is 2nd, MIA is 5th, and KC is 6th. ---We would play HOU and then OAK or NE (again depending on PITT/KC outcome) to reach the AFC Championship!!!!!

The bottomline...we are asking for an upset of some kind to make our road to the Championship easier!

All this data came from the playoff machine generator located here.

I think beating the Pats next week isn't that far fetched of an idea. Miami has beaten New England at home the past three years. I know the circumstances are WAY different this time round but it is doable.

In scenario 3, if Miami gets out of the first round against Houston, they would play Oakland as long as Pitt wins their game. Pitt would play New England in the second round.

I thought we were locked as 6th but maybe I am wrong. Would definitely love a Houston and Oakland road.

If Miami is the #5 and win they could play #1 or #2 seed. More then likely they would play #1 seed (Oakland or NE)

Beat NE in Miami because we can... and then hope for the warmer weather path through Houston and Oakland to the superbowl.

It's not likely given the injury to Carr but the Pats could lose the #1 seed with a Miami loss and an Oakland win. The thing is, neither Miami or NE will know until after our games are over because Oak @ Den and KC @ SD are late games. This means Tom Brady will play at they will be at full force.

We can still beat them as we have in the past in Miami.

I think I would rather face Pit as opposed to Houston anyway. Baltimore gouged them for 122 yards until they abandoned the run in the 4th quarter. Jay Ajayi put 204 on them the first time we played. I think they are overrated in run defense and we match up well with them given our strengths.

In scenario 4, the only way Miami would play Oakland in the second round is if KC also wins their wild card game. High seed plays lowest remaining seed.

Thanks for helping me with those small tweaks for the 2nd round guys.
