Are the Dolphins week 17 games always on the road so they can prepare the field for the orange bowl? it just seems liek they've been on the road in week 17 every year. This year it was in NE, last year in Baltimore, I think the year before it might have been home against the Jets (not sure tho) and 2001 it was in NE.

Am I right or is that just the way the schedule always seems to pan out?

Also we always seem to open @ home. When was our last week 1 game on the road?

I was just thinking about it so any info would be appreciated

Maybe Wayne has asked the NFL to schedule the last game of every year on the road. He did tear apart a World Series baseball club once upon a time. And I'm sure he makes more from the Orange bowl and all the other opportunities that arise from such an event than he does from a Dolphin home game...

We opened away against the Texans in 2003 and loss....Randy got called holding on a Ricky TD

No, that was in Miami. We also finished 2003 in Miami against the Jets.

2001 was the last time we opened on the road, Sunday Night at Tennessee (Somersault of Doom!), but we finished at home against the Bills, and would have finished at home against the Falcons anyway (Bills game was scheduled for Week 2, but all Week 2 games were moved to the end of the year due to 9/11).

The flip side to 2003 actually happened in both 1998 and 1999, opening and closing the season with road games.
