Yahoo - 18th

They should have started Matt Moore from the moment Ryan Tannehill got hurt. He has always been a capable backup, he knew the offense well and he wasn’t in retirement for months like Jay Cutler. Maybe the fourth quarter rally was Moore catching the Jets by surprise and he’ll fall back to earth quickly, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he takes the job and never gives it back to Cutler.

ESPN - 20th

The Patriots are the main reason that the Dolphins have only a 3.8 percent chance to win the division, but their offensive struggles are why they have only a 19 percent chance of making the playoffs. Miami's next three games are in prime time, so all eyes will be on this team in the coming weeks.

Others to come today.

The power ranking are fun to read but with all the injuries to key players across the league, how their back ups play is the key.
Some teams above Miami in those rankings would have a hard team beating Miami with their back up QB's.

Yes, trust us, we all know they're "dumb" because every.single.time they are posted, you can count on people taking the time to click on a thread they clearly aren't interested in, scrolling down, hitting reply, and letting everybody in on the big secret that the rankings don't actually mean anything.

Thanks for the hot take, but you're missing the fact that some posters like to get outside opinions on how others feel the Dolphins compare to the rest of the league just because, **** it, sometimes it's just kinda fun to talk about it.

These things are so dumb. We largely just keep winning 13-4 in our last 17 games and still no respect.

Yup. Miami fans keep complaining the Fins get no respect, but when they GET respect (climbing in the rankings), they love to remind us to ignore rankings. Personally, I see the rankings as a form of respect. Nothing more. REAL respect is when Miami STARTS the season as top 10. REAL respect is when Miami is EXPECTED to win. Until then, climbing the rankings ladder is all we have.

NFL.com - 18th

Whale of a response by the, uh, Dolphins on Sunday. Backup QB Matt Moore's poise was off the charts while stepping in for an injured Jay Cutler versus the Jets, especially in coming back from an interception on his second series. Or how about coming back to Kenny Stills in the end zone after what would have been the latter's second touchdown reception was called back on a ticky-tack pick call? Cutler is likely to miss Miami's upcoming "Thursday Night Football" clash with Baltimore with cracked ribs. If you compare the numbers of Moore and Cutler from 2016 until now, they're not close. In that span, Cutler has 11 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 6.48 yards per attempt and a 78.5 passer rating in 11 games. Moore in that span: 10 touchdowns, four picks, 8.42 yards per attempt and a 105.1 passer rating in five games. Surprising! (Not.)

Have we cracked the top 10 once in any of those rankings during our current regular season run that has only been clipped by NE and KC?

The NFL.com ranking has Miami behind the Bears and Chargers FWIW.

Man, I know we dont win pretty, but sticking us behind 4 loss teams? Especially one we beat already?! C'mon Man!

That said, I think low rankings work well for us. The players get offended and get a stick up their ass and play better. Keep ranking us low!!

High rankings are just poison. Rat Poison. :p

Respect comes from winning games in the Play Offs, it's been a while.

lol gotta love espn 20th???
lets see chargers are 18th? oh wait but we beat them
atlanta 12th? oh wait but we beat them

the raiders r 10th at 3-4? lmfao
Looks like they're giving the Raiders a credit for Carr's injury, but they conveniently ignore all of the injuries and issues we've had of course.

Ya it's not like our starting Qb who was rated 12th in the league torn his knee up again..Raiders have a terrible defense that has been exposed. The fact that we're 18th or 20th shows they don't know that 4-2 is better than 3-4. I thought a win is win. The stupid ass analysts seem to use that as their catch phrase every week. I guess that doesn't apply to us. As of right now, we should be a top 12 ranked team. We're in the playoffs if the season ended today and that's how these rankings should work. It's laughable at this point. Ask a Raiders fan what would they rather have..a 4-2 record and 20th in Power Rankings or be 3-4 and 12th in the rankings?
