If the season ended today:

AFC
------
1 Seed: Broncos
2 Seed: Patriots
3 Seed: Bengals
4 Seed: Colts
5 Seed: Chargers
6 Seed: Bills

In the Hunt:
7 Seed: Ravens
8 Seed: Steelers
9 Seed: Chiefs
10 Seed: Dolphins

The Dolphins situation:
  • Dolphins will lose a head to head tiebreaker to the Chiefs and Bills (at this point)
  • Dolphins yet to play games vs 5 potential AFC playoff teams: Ravens, Chargers, Bills, Patriots, Broncos
  • Dolphins are only a game behind every team except for the Patriots and Broncos

Bills loss really put us behind the 8 ball and not the good kind

I think if we win 3 out of 5 of the games against the AFC contenders the Dolphins can make the playoffs...

Our best shot at that IMO is beating the Chargers, Patriots and Ravens.

(I almost want to replace the Patriots with the Bills because sweeping the Patriots is just so unlikely, but I can't favor the Dolphins against the Bills because of the horrible matchup problem they present to the Dolphins)

I think the Chiefs loss actually ended up screwing us more. That was a more winnable game at home and the team laid an egg.

Nah, we can beat the Bills at home. Can't give them free points like we did last year.

I think we'll take the Bills in the rematch but it's mostly contingent on ****ing blocking somebody this time.

The Chargers game is HUGE. If the Dolphins drop this one, it really makes the rest of the season a pressure cooker... I think they would need to beat the rest of their AFC opponents outside of the Broncos and Pats to have a shot.

Our odd of making playoffs go from 20% to 40 with a win over chargers. We lose and it's going to be real tough. Like you mentioned the kc loss was big. We can't lose to chargers also.

Not for nothin, but we own the Chargers.

We're an Aaron Rodgers miracle away from being 5-2 and on a 4 game winning streak. I like our odds of making the playoffs.

They are just a match-up nightmare for us. It certainly helps that C.J. Spiller has been out for a little bit now. But overall the match ups and their schemes that they run really puts us at a disadvantage.

The Bills DT's seem to dominate of interior line and stuff our running game.
Having Orton at QB makes them more explosive and consistent.
Remember their tall receiver just pushing Finnegan and Grimes down the field.
It will be real tough to beat them...even at home.
Losing to GB ut us in this position...dam you Philbin

No point in any of this when some teams haven't even had their bye yet.
