well, this is what everyone hopes for on an nfl sunday when you're team is a couple of games behind in their division - you hope your team wins and the rest of the division loses. it happened yesterday...

the jets lose
the bills lose
and patriots lose

two weeks ago we were all looking at the future games for our division opponents and we were thinking that for yesterday's games:
"no way the bills lose to the titans - bills win"
"jets won't lose to jaguars - jets win"
"honestly, colts-patriots will be a good game but brady will win it - patriots win"

now, all 3 teams lost. miami won. what is the impact?

now i only consider the jets and patriots as contenders in our division right now and these are the tough games they have left:

patriots still have a game against new orleans saints, jets, houston and against miami
jet's still have a game against the colts, falcons and new england

miami has tough games against patriots, houston, and pittsburgh

IF...............BIG IF:

patriots and miami cover the rest of their games but patriots lose to miami and saints - that means patriots and miami both end tied and miami wins the tiebreaker with a better div record and wins the AFC east. of course, miami would have to beat pittsburgh and houston. i was hoping pittsburgh would have crushed their division by now so as to play its backups against miami late in the season with the division in hand but it looks like miami is headed to a very tough game against pittsburgh.

now if jets go on a run, that would also be good news for miami if miami goes on a run because it essentially would mean that patriots get another loss from the jets and miami ends up tied with the jets which would give miami the division because of a better division record.

rest of miami schedule:

this thursday:
we HAVE to win against the losing records teams....we just have to if we want any chance at all. panthers are playing well all of a sudden...steve smith is playing good, delhomme, and those two great backs. the short week benefits the panthers because our #1 back is hurt right now. we are playing AT carolina as well. our coaching staff is better and let's just hope and pray this game goes in our favor. i'm hoping the backups are going to want to impress the miami coaching staff and have a great game. panthers don't have a killer tight end so i think our secondary will play well. our d-line HAS to stop the run. tough game.

it is imperative we win against the bills @buffalo in 2 weeks...and we'll have extra days of preparation for that game so i'm thinking we're good there. then we have to hope the bills play well against the patriots and the jets...any bills win against those two teams works extremely, extremely well in our favor.

after the bills we face new england at home for a night game. ronnie will be back by then...the patriots will seemingly be coming off a loss to the new orleans saints from a monday night football game and will have to prepare for a miami road game in 5 days. i love our chances... let's hope the miami's game against the bills is an "easy on the bodies" type game where miami's players don't end up too banged up. remember, there's a chance miami's players will be in a good shape because they'll have played one game in 17 days.

then we go on the road for 2 games against jacksonville and tennessee. these games are too far away to start making predictions but i'll you what, i'd rather play these road games in december than road games in buffalo and new england in december. we finish off the season with two consecutive home games against houston (will we ever beat this damn team?) and pittsburgh. i really think those last two games will determine our playoff chances.

let's hope for more weekends last like this last one because miami certainly needs more like it.

Short Term: If we win the next two, and the patsies lose to NO, our game versus them will be for the division lead!

good breakdown... some of these games that looked easy early on are now looking tougher, Tennessee, Carolina, Jax...

we gotta still take care of those teams to not only have the record to be in the playoffs, but prove we deserve to be in the playoffs by not losing to teams we should beat...

I can tell you this, their is no player in the league right now who seems as deadly as chris johnson. I am scared to death to play them now, especially with VY at qb and the problems it presents for our defense. Great qb's and TE's have been what have killed us, besides Brady, we won't see another great QB until houston and pittsburgh. TE wise we don't really play another stud the rest of the way. Our season really comes down to getting Ronnie healthy. Simple to me.

man, i wan't wait to the n.e game.... revenge time

^lets just hope we have Ronnie back by then. It is essential he is healthy and ready to kick some Patriot ***. Even though the Panthers game is no gimme, I fear another sweatjob like last weekend.

If you told me the Pats were going to lose one of the next two. I would rather them lose this week against the Jerks.
