I've been a Chad fan since 1995 when he was a freshman at Marshall. I followed him to NY, and now I'm following him to Miami. I'm exicited for his fresh start. The Jets tossed Chad to the curb and didn't think twice about it. Week 1 is going to be awesome!!

I followed him in NY as well, though I'm a Fins fan, it was always hard rooting against him, but now I can root for him with no problem. I was there at Marshall while Chad was still playing, got to see him play there as well.

No matter how strange it seems to see Chad in anything but green and white, I am stoked!!

Ted Ginn Jr. was just neutered. It's like being forced to drive your Ferrari in a 15 mph school zone.

Get ready for high completions, short yards and hearing the word "checkdown" 20 times each Sunday.

As Mark Schlereth said about Pennington last month, "3 yards and a cloud of dust should not pertain to a team's passing game."

So...if the Defense is running man to man, and Ted Ginns running a crossing route, will you still be mad if Pennington only throws it 5-10 yards to ginn, who then turned it up field for 30+ yards?

Do you really think guys like Ginn only know how to run the fade? Seriously, that's the point of calling an offense, so the QB doesn't HAVE to do everything.

You just lost all credibility when you quoted Mark Schlereth . . . because he is a HORRIBLE analyst.

Yet he and Coles had a pretty strong relationship and numerous 20+ yard completions. Funny how you forget that the moment he joins your divisional rival. What is it about certain things that make rational sane people post absolutely idiotic things? New York fans proved themselves to be ignorant the moment they started booing Chad Pennington in his own stadium. It just shows how stupid the average fan really is.

Ginn will excell in the dink and dunk offense. Sure he could be a deep threat, and i'm sure he will in the future, but the imporant thing is getting him the ball in the open field so he can make plays with his legs. People act like Ginn is just a burner who catches deep balls all day and won't be effective if the deep ball is nullified.. wrong. That's not how he was utilized in college and it won't be in the NFL.

You'll see us use Ginn a lot of different ways effectively. Ted Ginn is a playmaker.

god the voice of reason. thank you so much for this post because once some one gets gin the ball one a short 5 slant he has the speed to break out and turn 5 yards into 20...bring on the 5 yard passes...lets move the ball down the field lets wear the defences down...actually the dink and dunk is JUST what compliments the power game we are trying to impliment..

The bottom line is that Pennington is a proven NFL starter. That instantly makes him an upgrade from any other QB we have on the roster. I'm already fully behind Pennington, because he knows how to throw the ball. With Pennington it becomes clear that Henne (real shocker here) is the QB for the future. Pennington is the quality veteran we've lacked to hold the reins until Henne is ready.

Given that Pennington and Henne are locks, the only questions are whether we can A) trade Beck for value, or B) get out of McCown's contract. Those things will determine who makes the roster as our #2 QB. If we can do both, we might even consider cutting ties with both Beck and McCown. But remember, Pennington does have an injury history, so our #2 has a good chance of starting at some point. Henne is the #3 because I don't think they will throw him to the wolves as a rookie.
