Do you think Welker could ever be a number 2 receiver, or does his size and lack of elite speed keep him as a career number 3 slot receiver. Just like Stokely.

I see him as a pure slot receiver; and a very good one at that. He has tremendous courage and plays hard. I think his size and athleticism do limit him but if he contin ues to develop at his current pace, he will be able to meaningfukl contributions to this team.

I think he's doing great where he is at. Keep him there with his plays. 18 receptions for 222 yards plus 11 Kickoff returns for 270 yards. He's our bread and butter.

I dont know how much longer he will allow us to only use him as the #3 with the way he is playing. His production and performances might just force his way into he #2.

Although, it really doesnt matter since we run 3 or 4 wide every freakin play... :tantrum:

Welker had a good game late but was often limited against the Jets. Was this due to him being number 2 when we had the 2 WR packages in? Less room to work out of the slot? Because most of his catches from what I remember were when he was in the slot when Hagan was on the field.

Welker.. although has been the #3 guy on the roster.. He's been the #1 guy on gameday.
I dont care if he'd listed as a #5 receiver. He's producing. Chambers is getting owned.
