It's a minor victory, but Beck won something... he started a game, completed some passes, handed off a ton... and actually got PT. Josh Mccown played the mop up man in the first game, and was relegated to the deepest darkest hole in the depth chart thereafter... grats Beck, you got a job!

Actually, quite the opposite. McCown beat out Beck in that McCown was able to net us a pick and Beck wasn't even able to net any interest "at all" and McCown was more wanted than Beck. So quite the opposite.

If McCown would've stayed and we would've just cut Beck, he would have been the backup. Now, we were able to trade McCown and couldn't do that with Beck and Beck just becomes our 3rd string QB, which is what he basically is...

The Dallas rumor was, Beck's price tag was higher than a 7th and there was interest, but it was too high. But a rumor is worth nada.

Altough I agree that I'm not sure Beck won. I think he'd be better off 2nd string somewhere, and/or fighting for a starting job instead of 3rd string here.

And the only places that are going to happen are places outside of the NFL. Come on man.....seriously.

The problem is he might not be able to be second string anywhere at this point in season. In Dallas he would be groomed to be the backup because Brad Johnson is the backup

Unless you are part of the coaching staff. How could you make a statement like this. YOU don't know if Beck has value or interest from other teams. Or if they even wanted to get rid of him.
I personally could care less which one stayed. I'm just happy we got something out of one of them.

At this point, i don't think Beck could fight for a starting job anywhere, but he certainly could be a 2nd string guy for a lot of teams

Which ones???? I guess you havent noticed that Beck puts the ball on the turf on THE REGULAR. You cant put someone in a game that counts at QB(the position player that touches the ball on basically every snap) when he fumbles the ball as often as Beck does. Beck is a 3rd string developemental guy at best for any team in the league.

He beat him and he deserved to stay. Anybody who says Mckown beat him is an obvious beck hater.

Beck cant play second string? shoot, he can be a starter in this league. I bet he would start in KC, Baltimore, Sanfran, St louis, Minny, Chicago and Carolina.

I'm bummed.

I was hoping that Beck would get traded and get out of that personal hell he's living in right now called Parcells Dolphins.

The best thing (in my opinion) is for Beck to get out of Dodge and have a new start somewhere else.

i really wanted beck 2 suceed in miami but he isnt a parcells type and he wont ever start so i say just trade him for anything and let him get a fair shot some where else.if we can get a 5th jump on it and a 6th and seventh would do just fine i just hope that we can get a little more than a 7th

If Beck does stay in Miami (which is a big if because this roster is not set in stone), he will have merely won the 3rd string QB job. Not exactly a great return for a 27 year old we spent a high 2nd round pick on last year. I hope he can turn his career around because the way he has been playing is pathetic and hard to watch. Lots of players enter the NFL and don't have things go their way initially. But he went into this season with a LEGITIMATE chance to start and blew it. And worse yet, he plays scared - something good QBs don't do.
