Considering we all know now what the market value for Deangelo (a great value of a 2nd rounder) I'm definitely thinking The Tuna and crew has a CB penciled in with 2a or 2b. Brandon Flowers? Antoine Cason? I can't see how the Dolphins wouldn't trump Oakland's deal and give up #32 for D Hall. He's a top 5 corner and he may have a sour attitude at times but he's no "thug" as BP insinuates he wants none of... I think behind DL, CB is our weakest position (I'd definitely listen to arguments of OL being weaker).

With that in mind, if we don't become fully engaged in the D Hall bidding war, I'd say we are going CB in the 2nd round...

thoughts????????????????

I don't think that it's more of an indicator that we're going to draft a CB within the first 32 picks because we didn't go after Hall - because Hall had an insane asking price and we'd be forced to give up a lot of draft picks.

First of all it's not just the 2nd round pick for Hall but the 6th round pick as well. On top of that it's Hall asking price of a contract in the 6-year $57 million range that Samuels received.

Parcells has only drafted 2 CBs before the 3rd round, Ty Law and Terence Newman so unless someone totally blows him away, I don't see that changing this year.

the 6th is a nothing... it's pretty much a 2nd for a top 5 corner... Miami has cap room to afford D Hall.

CB is stacked in NFL draft '08. So I think there is a good chance we welcome, Justin King/Brandon Flowers/Charles Godfrey to the Dolphins fold at #32 or #57

I don't think BP places a high value on CBs. IMO that's why he didn't trump Oak's offer. And BTW this is my read of BP's opinion based on the makeups of his teams and where he acquired those CBs. It is not my opinion of the importance of CBs.

I agree we desperately need a solid #1 corner on this team, but i just love how everyone is always talking about how we need to draft an OT, CB, TE, WR, LB, and QB early when we only have a few picks early. Its gonna be interesting to see which holes we fill with our early picks ...

Yeah, if you look at the Cowboys drafts under Parcells, he does not pick up many defensive backs through the draft at all. And it's not like the Cowboys were just loaded with defensive backfield talent. I tend to suspect that Parcels believes that it's better to have a top notch pass rush than top notch corners.

I agree we need a #1 across from W.Allen but we certainly signed alot of guys to compete in the secondary come camp time. This leads me to believe there's a chance (maybe a small one) that the coaching staff thinks they might be fine there.
