You would think if it was going to happen it would've by now. I bet I've checked this site 50 times a day looking for a "Coyle fired" thread.

Come back same time next year. You may get your wish

It's not happening. Philbin feels bad holding his buddies accountable for performance and Ross isn't forcing his hand this year.

In any case, we probably wouldn't be able to land a top DC candidate anyway with this lame duck situation

Sherman was fired on Jan. 6, last year.

Difference there was heat in Philbin and he was told Sherman goes or you both go. No heat this year, besides with Philbin in his last year and on the hot seat we aren't getting a top candidate anyway.

I hear you brotha I am losing hope for next season and I've never been so disinterested in Dolphins football. It's like I have nothing to look forward to with this team. I cringe and get sick to my stomach thinking of that goofy ass HC of ours on the sidelines next year...

Philbin is not getting rid of his buddy!

A new DC would give us hope and some excitement
Otherwise it's same old same old

A good defensive coordinator is not going to shy away from a job because of the HC. They will get a multiple year guaranteed contract, with the knowledge that if Miami cleans house next year- they will be getting paid double.

If Philbin fires Coyle it's because he's pressured to do it (by "someone"). If Philbin doesn't fire Coyle it's because he has no balls. These beliefs tell more about those that hold them, than it does Philbin.

Why the hell would Philbin feels he needs to hold his staff accountable? Nobody holds him accountable.

Even his staunchest defenders concede that he's no great shakes as a head coach, but insist that he must remain because of (multiple choice): 1) continuity; 2) Lazor; 3) the team is improving (LOL); 4) all of the above.

Continuity, continuity ...

Philbin is a lame duck. Who's going to come here as DC if there is a significant chance it all gets blown up at the end of the year.

Continuity, continuity ... In mediocrity
